Wellbeck's on a season long loan, so wouldn't have been available during the window. If Chelsea wanted to sell Strurridge they would have. They clearly rate him, which it was why it was a loan move, so we'd have been looking at silly money to land him.
Kalou, what everyone else said.
As much as I dislike him, Andy Gray's tip are usually there or there abouts and he reckons 2-1 to them. Again, I'd be reasonably ok with that, we'd certainly have a chance back at the Lane. Bit worried about the all-out attack talk though...
Yeah, I was reading something about how Michael Ricketts had a similar record to Andy Carroll at the same age so you have to be careful. As this football blog suggests, getting £35 million for an unproven striker is probably one of the best bits of buisness in football ever. He's certainly no...
Does Harry lack imagination in the transfer market?
Or maybe foresight is the right word. You see, just looking at this football tips article about our supposed £30 million bid for Andy Carroll suddenly made me think "we could have got him for a tenth of that not so long ago". He showed promise...
I'm not in favour of the move, but I've just tracked down this Independent article which says we may not have much choice.
"The Independent on Sunday understands the alternative of a redeveloped White Hart Lane as part of the Northumberland Park Development is gradually being considered a...
Funny you should be talking about this, as I've just come across this blog which has video clips of classic Spurs v the scumbags matches from down the years and I'd forgotten just how many swung on a dodgy decision. Us to take a half time lead, only for them to get back into it through a dodgy pen.
Worth having a look at this football blog to remind yourself of what it was like before footballers were millionaires. Not old enough to remember all the ads on their, but seeing Pat Jennings dressed as an oil filter (number 5) was funny/slightly sad. Imagine how much he'd be on these days.
Re the pen. I think it looked like contact from where he was on the pitch, it's the kind of decision where his linesman should be helping him out.
As for the red, he didn't have any choice.
Yup, I had a look at it and though "all those players are much better than Phill Neville".
Point taken though. As for the Neville deal, it never look like as was going to happen did it? I mean this football predictions article highlights just how unlikely it was. Having said that, it...
Anyone see this? The Wolfburg fans turned up with brollies to a game to protest against Steve McClaren. There's a great picture on this football tips blog. Classic. Feel slightly sorry for McClaren though, he'll never live that umbrella thing down.
Agree. I'm in the school of thought that says everyone has their price. Hopefully if Spurs scouts are doing their jobs we should be able to pick up a replacement on the cheap and bank the difference between that and what Chelsea pay us.
I agree though with City's money it doesn't matter, plus like Lescott last year if City drag it ouy they can de-stabilise another one of their rivals liek with Everton, a bit sneaky but ruthlessly effective.
Villa have been linked with Flamini as a replacement here though who would be a great...
I think City wil be surprised at the numbe rof players who wil quite happily 'rot in the reserves' (sorry = Elite squad!) while picking up £100,000+ a week.
AKA the 'Winston Bogarde syndrome!!'
