Interesting...

"We missed a bit of freshness that you need in the first 15 minutes," said Pochettino.

"Maybe we need more depth in the squad to avoid a situation like the first 15 minutes."

We do. I find it funny when people say we have a great squad or akin to that. We have a good squad there is no denying that but a squad has elements of everything be it creativity, pace, strength etc... i think we are lacking in creativity in the main and even some pace although have GKN

More depth? He had £47 million worth of signings on the bench and didn't even include of GKN on it. The squad has plenty of depth to it, it's his management of this in terms of rotation and selection that needs improving.

Were they HIS signings though? I actually genuinely dont know. I would presume they are.

I have always liked sissoko although acknowledge he isnt the best but i also was staggered we got him, i genuinely didnt think he was someone who was required.

There is clearly committe but he clearly has a say. Unfortunately they gave him too much of that when it can to Sissoko. It's a perfect example of why a chairman shouldn't give a coach control in this area.

Do you not think that the committee went for someone like Sissoko?

Also perhaps they didnt also get who he wanted. Poch is unlike AVB he is more pragmatic and understand we cant go out and spend 100m.

A run of the mil 27 year old who cost £30 million that we would almost certainly take a big loss on? That's that not a signing that fits the Levy mandate and is a prime example of why we shouldn't be making such signings.

I think we should just all come to the conclusion that we will never know who signs off on deals or gives the go ahead.

What we know

1) we scouted him 2) we bought him

There were thousands others to watch and recruit as well, but we chose who we chose.

From what I have seen I like the electricity of GKN, the effort of Janssen, and the conversation Sissoko has brought to these boards.

For me, we have depth that needs to be tested. Winks, Edwards, Harrison, CCV, Josh, GKN, Carroll...

For me, those all, outside CCV, give you something to be excited about for our attacking front.

Well Poch escaped blame for the Fazio and Stambouli signings, I feel he has been backed now and he should take responsibility if signings don't work out.

I got slaughtered on here last week when I posted at how I was "disgusted" (later changed to furious) about Poch's substitutions.
Well, I'll say it again, I really am not impressed with the decision making that accompanies this.

There is a lot to admire about Poch, but I genuinely think he struggles for a plan B and some of his sub decisions are poor.
Son has been so effective from the left, and yet again he starts him up front, then takes him off instead of moving him to his best position.

Janssen needs to complete 90 mins to get some confidence because he is all over the shop currently.

Still, I have to admire our defence. No issues there.
