If he has a choice of liverpool or us he will choose them

They are title contenders, we are fighting for 5th/6th

They have City/Chelsea levels of money to spend

They have Spanish players to help him settle in

They are on another level wages wise

The bit in bold is true.

The rest is utter bullshit. And you know it.

Is our selling to buy all FFP related?
Appreciate the stadium costs, but given our net 'no spend' I find our frugality a little frustrating, what with Wet Spam, Stoke, Palace and even Newcastle all spending without big sales.

I don't see how the 1st, 3rd and 4th points made by Drexl are not true, given how they've spent, their returning players and the fact that they nearly won the title 2 years ago. The 2nd may not be, but they certainly have spent a large amount compared to us.

I can't believe, as it stands that if both Tottenham and Liverpool made offers for Asier Illaramendi and both were accepted, that he would choose us unless he was particularly enamoured by Mauricio Pochettino and his 'vision'. (Rodgers is a tool).

They'd offer him more wages, point out their signings, point out that they have won the CL and played in it more times than we have and that they nearly won the title 2 years ago.

I hope they're not interested. Even then he might choose a Real Sociedad return.

The worst thing is, he probably doesn't think it's bullshit.

I don't think its bullshit thats why

Every pundit put Arsenal as title contenders this season, last night Liverpool played them off the park, so why is Liverpool, with 7 points after 3 games, and outplaying a recognised title contender not considered contenders themselves?

They have also spent more than any other team in the world this transfer window, i believe its a net spend of £77m or something

Balotelli is allegedly on 140k a week, are we capable of paying that kinda wage?

No, the club is one of the most profitable in the BPL, we are nowhere near FFP-limits.

'This is nuts. Levy and Lewis are rolling in dough. Don't be fooled, they just don't like spending. Didn't even spend all the Bale money.

I think they did spend all the Bale money, we just wished they hadn't given what we now know...

So by this logic, West Ham should be title contenders because they won at The Emirates?

But wait...there's more. Bournemouth played West Ham "off the park" at the weekend, so they're surely up there with the likes of Chelsea and City? In fact, name me one fucking team by your logic who isn't a title contender.

Arsenal scored a legitimate goal that was ruled out for no reason, and had multiple chances to score after that. Liverpool didn't play them off the park by any stretch of the imagination. You said 'but for Cech they'd have won', which is idiocy, were Arsenal cheating by having a good goalkeeper?

Liverpool have looked average, their defence is average, their goalkeeper is well below average, their central midfield is average (only Henderson is any good), their forward players are good, their manager is a mole-person. Scraping a few 1-0s and now a 0-0 draw doesn't mean shit. Man City would absolutely demolish them. Arsenal have been shit thus far, too.

So Levy, ENIC and Joe Lewis are using THFC as a profit making business venture - whilst admittedly improving it as they go along.
I don't want to be bankrupt. But I want a shiny new player who is actually good. Please.

It's a pity if he chose RS for sentimental reasons. I wish we had also step up an attempt to bring him here. Sometimes money may not be the deciding factors.

You are being pedantic for the sake of being pedantic, of course there are always going to be anomolies in results, we beat Milan in the CL, Milan have beaten Real in the CL, it does not mean we are better than Real

Liverpool have a formidable squad, money to burn if any signings don't work out, they are one of 4 teams who are title contenders imho

Not sure what we do if Illaramendi goes elsewhere.

I just really really hope we have a plan B because if we don't get a decent defensive midfielder, I think we're going to struggle this season.

No, they are saving money to buy us a shiny new stadium which will be one of the most expensive privately funded sports stadiums. That stadium will allow us to spend much more money due to a larger income.

I also want shiny new players, but Levy has said again and again that until our stadium is complete, we will not contend with the top 4 + Pool with regards to spending money. And I'm willing to wait and see what Poch and his new scouts can drum up - my guess is that it will be pretty good.

I'm sure we do have a plan B - I'm sure we won't want to see who it is though :yuck:

It's time to play DL's Wheelbarrow of Cash. Cue bids for every half decent holding player in Europe, but so late that no team has any chance of replacing them and simply say no.
