Thing is, there is little reason for United to sell Berbatov in a straight transfer as his value is more to them than they would recoup in transfer fee. They won't recieve anywhere near what they paid for him and he is an important squad member for a duration of a season.

If he moves, he will be used as bait to entice a club such as ours to prize away the likes of Bale & Modric or perhaps Inter with Sneijder.

I know from someone at board room level that Modders is Man Utd's number one target this summer, they want him, whether Levy can say no to obscene amounts of cash is another thing but i'm sure he'll know how much the fans will go ballistic if we even think about entertaining the idea.

They might want him but they don't have enough money. They will definitely be shelling out £20m plus on a keeper and can't see them having another £40m+ spare for Modric.
