I had a dream last night that he signed for Arsenal and scored the winner against us in the FA Cup 3rd round...

One thing that does suprise me is the amount of people saying they wouldn't mind Berbatov back, yet some people were absoultly fuming with what Modric did, and said they wouldn't want him back o_O

Every fan is entitled to have different morals, thats upto you....on a footballing note i see bringing him back a mistake too, and would be astonished if Wenger took him to the emmirates, when fergie dumped him ony Jol wanted him...why is that?

I don't really see it as a question of morals. We can both agree that the way he left was dodgy morally. I'm just looking at his return as a separate situation. Fair enough though if you don't think he's up to it but I for one will be drooling if he comes back.

Fuck staying angry with World Class players.

Bale, Modric, Berba - you'd have them all back and you know it.

Not Berba, he is even lazier than he used to be. Modric and Bale would be amazing.

What is all this about Bale merely refusing to play in a friendly? As far as I remember, he was still our player as Arsenal were beating us at the end of August.

Exactly!!! People want to believe nonsense about him being injured and unable to play. I know for a FACT he was fine and training on his own for weeks before he was sold.

At the time DL was negotiating with Real for 100m....are we sure that it was Bale's decision not to be risked? DL unlike with Berba has not said anything, my guess was it was a deal waiting to be signed and Bale was taken out of the squad, abit grey area there, im sure lewis/DL didn't want to risk 100m i dont believe for 1 minute they wanted to keep Bale when that kind of money was being thrown around.

Just because he was training by himself does not mean he was fit to play though, which was emphasised by the fact he struggled with injuries when he arrived at Madrid and also did not play for Wales.

He may have refused to play, I can't be sure, but the training thing doesn't mean anything.

If berbatov is the best option available to us in terms of the impact he would have on the team then I would want us to sign him

I'm not a little kid any more who has heros and gets the players names on the back of his shirts - all I want is for us to be successful as a club. If Berbatov can come in and be the difference between us reaching the CL and not then we should of course sign him regardless of the bad blood from the past

What I am labouring to say is this should be a footballing decision as to whether or not Berbatov would fit our team, our style of play and compliment his potential team mates rather than a personal issue about us holding grudges about the way he went. If he's the best option we have and he would have a positive impact on the squad we would be foolish to cut our nose off to spite our face and stick with what isn't working just because of the past

No he struggled at Madrid because he didn't have a full pre-season. You can kick ball as much as you like and train in the gym but that will never get you match fitness/sharpness which is what he lacked when arriving at Madrid.

I'm telling you i know for a fact he was fit and also he refused to play after storming out of a meeting with DL when he was told he will not be sold. At that point DL was not negotiating with Madrid.

He gave the best, 'one up top' performance I have seen from a spurs forward in many a year against Bolton when Keane got sent off early doors and I think we managed to score five.

That was a while ago now though.

If AVB deems him to be someone he wants, then fine by me. He will certainly hold the ball up far better than Soldado and Defoe. Perhaps some kind of loan swap could take place with Adebayor going to Fulham for the rest of the season? He clearly won't play for us anytime soon so might as well bring someone in who AVB would consider for selection.

I recall him playing a similar wel suburbly against Man City away too

My question would be how well he could fit into our team, would he help get the best out of Soldado (possibly) could he be the player to link all our attacking talent together? he certainly has the skill and the vision to do so

Not really a fair judgement. I'd like to see Ade's temperament if he was playing for Fulham and how effective he would be. End of the day quality players like Berba still need other quality players around them. No point Berba pulling the ball out of the sky with a wonder touch to then look up and see other players in his team not on the same wavelength. Berba is still one of the best out there for holding up the ball. He would be perfect for the system of football we try to play.

All this talk about how he left Spurs and we shouldn't take him back etc etc is silly. End of the day he wanted to sign for the biggest club in the world and win trophies. How can we stop a player from living his dreams!

Bale is no different to Berba. He done everything possible to join Real Madrid. If people believe that crap about Bale being injured then they need a reality check! He refused to play for Tottenham in pre-season to minimise the risk of being injured. Would we take Bale back? YES!

Berbatov was just fine for Fulham last season, so the quality of his team-mates is nothing whatsoever to do with his being shite this. Jol has only himself to blame for signing him; he should have known better than anyone what a total **** the man is. He sulked and fucked about at the start of the 2007-2008 season because he didn't get his move that summer and was a significant factor in losing BMJ his job, and then we had all the nonsense a year later.

Bale at least had the good grace to keep himself in the background. We didn't have these very public displays of pique. Nor did we have the constant drip-drip-drip from Danchev all the time he was here. Berbatov very deliberately used us as a stepping-stone. It was just so gratifying when everything went to shit at United.

And really, just how good was he for us? It took him nearly half his first season to adjust, and it was only over the last third, after Keane came back from injury, that he really clicked. The next season he had a good spell after Ramos took over, but gradually lost interest after the CC final. To say he was fully committed for half his time here would be generous. Yes, at his best fantastic, and no-one who saw it will forget that one-man show against Bolton after Keane was sent off, but a lot of the time he just drifted around glaring at anyone who sent him a pass he had to move two feet for.

Just say no. I'm sure Levy will.

We have very few players in the squad, outside of our strikers, that have Champions League experience. We have Eriksen who has a large amount for a 21 year old on 20 games, Verts on 17 and on-one else has double figures.

If you have experience playing in the CL, then you will, more than likely, have experience qualifying for it. Berbatov could make a huge difference, especially playing behind the striker.

Let's not forget Klinsmann left on bad terms, but he came back and now people only say positives about him.

Also on the CL experience, it might be worthwhile also signing Pirlo & Vidic, for a year or two, who are both have contracts expiring at the end of the season.

IMO one of the best strikers I've seen at Spurs in the last 20 years.

Loved him but he'd play in the no 10 position now surely and think he'd work hard enough for AVB.
