Looked nervous early on but always dangerous. Need more goals though earlier on so we can settle and really play our football. We're definitely picking up,

Excellent win, very good performance and an exciting cameo from GKN

To play like that with so many key players out bodes very well going forwards

Happy with the 3 points, but I did think we made hard work of it & our front players won't to take that one extra pass too often.

Some very strange comments in here.

Away in Russia, missing a handful of important players and we pretty much played like the home team and controlled 80% of that game. Goal came after 20 mins odd of concerted pressure. All that was missing was a second goal. Amazing tackle by the defender on Son to stop that happening.

Honestly just don't understand some peoples perception or understanding of football on here. No doubt incandescent that a Champion League team playing at home dared to have 5 mins of dominant possession in the 79th to 84th mins of the match.

Solid, patient and got the goal we needed. Unpicking a defence like that away from home in this comp is no mean feat.

A very open group that will be determined by who does the best away from home I think.

I'd have preferred Leverkusen to win. They're not a good team, we'll beat them home and away. A draw has Monaco's fate in their own hands.

Getting 3 pts in Russia with so many players out, is no mean feat. In fact it's fantastic. Bring on City.

GNK looked really sharp, Janssen looks poor, need more than a hold up man for 20m. Winks looked very assured coming on. Happy.

Yes. Thought Lamela looked much more lively in t hat central position. Big step up in quality it seems from the Dutch league and will take some time it seems for him to learn how to create space for himself at a higher level

Winks gets a lovely weight on the ball when he passes it

GKN made some nice runs but also nice decision making. Looks much more accomplished than N'Jie and more of a team player than Townsend. If he can keep this level up he could be a v effective plan B over the season

Wanyama and Son stepping up tonight.

This is a hell of a squad. If Jansen can add a goal here or there to accompany his excellent general play, we're approaching something of the finished article.

N'Koudou (spelling?!?) - looks very handy. No nerves, no second guessing himself. Breezed past players with ease. An almost perfect 70 minute sub against tiring defences.

Bring on City. That's going to be a cracking game.

I'm claiming that!

I went to the kitchen to get a drink and Son scored...

So I turned the TV off in case I jinxed it.

Get in!

Big, big win after the disappointing opener. I couldn't be more pleased. It's the most hostile environment we were going to play away in, and off the back of a gutting loss at home to a side we really should have beaten. We were defensively rock solid as CSKA only really threatened a couple of times, but otherwise created no tangible buildup play and were reliant on sheer athleticism to get into space. On our side, we looked very creative and very balanced. Eriksen dropping deeper with some pace and stretch on the outside is just going to work such great wonders moving forward, and will be vastly better than our 3 AM's holding hands at the top of the box.

I'm rapidly falling for NKD. He offers everything - literally everything - I have lit this board up with pining for over the last few seasons. He has the pace, the confidence, the aggression, and the crisp passing to make him very dangerous. Would so very much love to see him included more in the fold moving forward. Fantastic performance from him, both offensively and defensively. Seeing a Spurs player actually run down an opposing ball carrier, and strip the ball without fouling, was utterly fantastic and very much missed. I can't even remember the last time I saw a Spurs winger do such a thing.

Long may Son's form continue. He's finally starting to display the stuff which made him an instant hit in Germany. With Kane out and Janssen struggling to find his feet, we're going to need more of this from Son.

Really wanted Dele to score that pect goal. That'd have really topped off the evening for me. Absolutely loved that improvisation and athleticism on display in that bit.

Good shit, Spurs. Bring on that tight pant-wearing bald nerd from Manchester.
