Bentley will be a spurs player in the next two days and will be presented along with Bostock (probably in a press conference on Friday). Not an ITK just a gut feeling.

Woah, thank heavens for that then!

i think Sergio Garcia would be a better buy than bentley. We have to show clubs like Blackburn that we are not a club that will be bowled over and taken advantage of. Sergio Garcia will be a cheaper and better option he can play as an AMC and a second striker. And will allow us to be more flexible with our system.Unless Bentley hands in a transfer request which will enable Blackburn to drop their valuation we should look elsewhere.

Zinedine Zidane will be welcomed back out of retirement and presented with John Bostock and Heurelho Gomes tomorrow. Not ITK, just a hunch.

I think that I may fart fairly soon, due to the curry that I had for dinner. Not ITK, just a... oh there it goes.

No chance we can take this to a tribunal  Think 2.5m is about right.

I was stating an opinion. Good for you, you seem to get your kicks trying to be clever rather than adding something constructive to the debate.

To answer your question, no I did not go to the same school, neither do I know him.

Time of the month? Dont be so sensitive. I made my constructive comments on other pages about Zokora, and my opinion differed from yours. Apologies for not agreeing with you!

Zokora will never be good enough to take us to top 4 as a DM, in fact, in my opinion, he goes down as one of our worst purchases for 8m. If Zokora is worth 8m, then Bentley is comfortably worth 15m.

For the record, i think 15m is the absolute maximum we should spend on Bentley but at the same time i would hope and i would love Spurs to buy him as he will be a fantastic addition to our squad and first 11. Having watched Zokora up close now for the past 2 seasons my judgement is that he is player ideal for someone like Boro.

Might be, if we had paid £8m for him. It was slightly less than £6m.

That figure of £8m got into the press, in the same way that the almost-as-false figure of £16.5m for Darren Bent got out, and has achieved the status of an internet factoid. But it's not so.

And I don't think he's a bad player. He improved a considerable amount over the course of last season. He's just a bit of a square peg - we can't make the best use of him.

Staying off topic I'd argue that alright, Zokora isn't perfect, but do we honestly think any of the DM's we're realistically looking at are going to be that much better. Albelda would be a great signing, as would Veloso (though if he signs I reckon satan will be ice skating to work on monday morning) and i'd be chuffed with either of these. The likes of Palombo though? I'm not sold on him. I figure if we can't get the right man for the job, going for Bentley and a decent LW (or using Bale there) means at least we play a pretty rigid four man midfield, without lennon and steed's drifting inside and all over the show. In this sort of setup I agree that Zokora will come up smelling of roses. Covering for JJ AL and SM is probably the most thankless task in the premier league. DZ looked a very decent player when paired up with teemu, and has shown enough with the Ivory Coast where the midfield is geared around him as the best CM they have to know he has the potential to do a job for us. It's a make or break season for him though, as I do also agree he's got Boro written all over him if it goes tits up this year.

I'm pretty sure we'll sign Bentley. My mates dad works with the old Blackburn Chairman (who obviously still has ties in ewood park) and he said he'll be signing for spurs as well as Santa Cruz going to Man United. To be honest I'm not that fussed whether we sign him or not, he's only after the money just like most footballers at the mo in my opinion, still he'd give lennon a reason to consistently perform which can't be a bad thing.

But arent we doing the same where Berbatov is concerned?

What do you mean, 'clubs like Blackburn'? 'Little' clubs that should just roll over and say, 'Oh yes, please take our best player'?

Staggering arrogance.

If we have as much money as everyone says, we should just pay the money and be done with it. Obviously not every penny that Blackburn demand, but we are, in a sense, the Manchester United of this deal, and Bentley is the Carrick. Or something.

Anyway, the point is from everything we've heard the player wants to come to us. He won't be staying at Blackburn and they can't force him to, just like we couldn't force Carrick and won't force Berba if a realistic offer comes in. We put in a reasonable offer (£10-12m + Robbo?) and the deal will go through. It's in the interest of all parties. We want him, he wants to come, BB don't want a player who doesn't want to play for them, and they get a good sum (even after the Arsenal pay-off) to improve other areas of their squad. Pimms all round.

The Beeg Feel clear-out?

Not beyond the bounds of possibility, I suppose. Just as long as we aren't tempted by Malouda.
