Why do we insist on going backwards so much when none of the players back there can make decent decisions? There wasn't one of our CBs who didn't give possession away unnecessarily. We should have just carried on playing the way we were before we scored. What the fuck is wrong with this club?

I’m bored of hearing it’s the players. If it’s the players. Prove it. By playing a 4-3-3. Or a 4-2-3-1. And if it’s the same turgid football. It’s the players. If not. It’s the fucking system we are playing. Which I have said a Million times. Puts too much pressure on our defence. Which we all know are not suited to the system. It’s not fucking rocket science!!

I agree that the tactics are an issue but I also think it’s the mentality that is coursing through the whole club.

Cowards, that’s the easiest way to put it.

There is an establishment that needs binning off.

Hugo, Dier, Sanchez, Hojbjerg, Lucas.

Too many mediocre players have been here for too long.
Yea agree with that the club mentality at the top and overall is a big issue and a few round mentioned there those 5 are a bit of an issue, PEH more from a lack of quality perspective but the other 4 from both lack of quality and soft attitude.

I think Hugo is a very weak captain too.

People saying the players aren’t trying?…

Hugo - seemed to put required effort in to me, no chance with the goal

Porro - passion and up and down the wing all game

Romero - blocks, tackles, chasing and pressing high up

Dier - shouting and commanding all game but yes he is one who is a bit limp

Lenglet - defended well, we went to pot when clueless Davisson came on but no lack of effort from Clement

Perisic - up and down the wing crosses, blocks seemed to try to me

Skipp & PEH - outnumbered in there as usual, tons of headers and tackles and running. PEH going mad at Romero nearly giving the ball away

Kuku - did his best but in this formation he has no one near him to pass to

Son - low on confidence. Bad sub taking him off for Lucas

Kane - can never question his commitment.

So aside from Dier being a bit soft/limp and maybe Perisic arguably at best who else from todays game wasn’t putting in the required effort 🤷‍♂️

It’s primarily the tactics that are the issue

They're professionals 1-0 up vs 10 men and they played with a panic, couldn't trap the ball, they couldn't control the ball, just hoofing it. They're adults and took no responsibility

I've never been so angry after a game as this season. I genuinely think after tonight I can switch off from this club until there are big changes

Another we ought to be shot of. Just bang average players all over the park bar Kane Romero and Kulu. The rest are fucking shit.
Skipp and Hojbjerg are our worst CM pairing since Freund and Sherwood. They are no way good enough and we are going to have to endure their technical masterclass for the next 9 games.

Why would they come to Spurs? Why would any decent player come to Spurs now?
I think this too, especially the state of events recently, any elite player or manager with top options will no doubt bin us off as we are an embarrassment. But any player or manager a level below that will still be interested for numerous reasons and we try and take them to that top level like we did with dembele, eriksen, etc. We are still a big club, probably one of the top ten in europe. We have the big lights of london. We have an incredible stadium and facilities. We will no doubt increase their wages.

However, more importantly, we are playing like utter shit this season, but somehow we are in the top 4 with a quarter of it to go (albeit for not very long). All a team needs is two or three updates to the team and it can completely change the mentality and style of a squad, just look arsenal.

I'd say also as well that if you are going to sit and soak, then sometimes you need a different outball option up top. Someone who can run and offer in the channels and just allow you to drop a relieving ball over the top or down the side they'll chase and they're a threat to get on it and can carry the ball as well.

We pass the ball negatively and invite the pressure, like tonight, and that is a massive problem, but a lot of times in these games there is no out for us and that's the biggest issue. It's a few passes to take a few seconds off the clock at best and then turn it over tamely, instead of being able to to try and turn them round and get up the pitch.

Moura maybe wasn't the worst option tonight actually, if you're going to play that way (until the end of the season) then in scenarios like this putting him/Richarlison/Danjuma up front alongside, or, whisper it, even instead of Kane in that last part of the game as a runner/outball/ball-carrier is needed. If you sit back, you still need to be able to get out.

Mid table you say ? Not on performances i would say championship level. I'm so angry 😡
Not even angry anymore

Totally apathetic. I won't stop supporting because I love the club and football, and the club isn't ENIC

But until there's a change of Chairman, if not owner, then I have no expectations we'll win anything or be truly competitive.

Whoever comes in will get the usual dead cat bounce before being undermined by Levy.

As I get older, I'm in the acceptance phase of my stages of grief...

Fair mate completely entitled to your opinion bud 💙

Personally I think it’s 70% down to the tactics and maybe 30% down to lack of quality of some of the players and possibly weak mentality of a few of them but people who keep grouping all of them together saying they’re not trying or are ‘pathetic’ etc I can’t get on board with that.

I’ve seen plenty of spineless spurs sides of the years or teams who aren’t trying 💯 because the manager has lost the dressing room. I think these players are lacking confidence and lacking freedom tactically and we keep having the distances between players far too large and players have no options to pass to and we are being told to drop off into this deep rigid 5-4-1 it’s exactly the same as before.
Good points mate i fear our season is going to tail off badly and can see Europa conference league.
Wish the next manager comes in now but no chance Levy eill fo that even if we lost all remsining games.
Really don't think my temper could cope watching snother gsme this season. I have never felt as disillusioned at the club in over 35 years.

Don’t they say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results?

Conte’s disciple assisted by a bloke who proved as a player he has not a shred of intelligence.

What did you expect?
Not sure the Mason comment is accurate.

I actually think kulu has been pretty dross for a while now. He gets plenty of the ball but does nothing with it these past few months. Injuries have really destroyed his form.

The defence is awful trying to play out from the back abysmally when they are not technically good enough.
Then you have PEH and Skipp both so deep they are almost on top of the defence with the forwards miles away there is no link and transitions are difficult.

I’ve been really disappointed with Son, Kulu and Peresic this season. They’ve all massively underperformed. They are not alone in that but they are some of supposedly better players and haven’t done enough - some of the others are just not good enough. Squad needs a massive overhaul but it won’t happen because we won’t spend the money and we are now less attractive to players (and managers) anyway- why would either come here.

Jol was laughing at Conte playing two in midfield last week.
