Disagree all you like, it's just my opinion. He will not be a Kane replacement as he won't be able to cover the ground. He'll be a big target man when were failing to break teams down....a massive plan B. I'd prefer to keep Jansen as he fits the system in the way he plays. How many headed goals did we score last season?
Janssen fits the system? He's completely different to anyone else we have. I think the point for me is llorente>nobody..and Janssen harshly counts as no option simply because the boss doesn't seem to trust him. Didn't even get a gig chasing a goal Sunday (Toby up front) and son is ahead of him in order.

I wonder how we could increase that number? Signing a 6'4 aerially dominant beast of a striker might help but IDK.

What evidence do you have that supports the fact VJ fits our system? I don't think that's the case whatsoever and if it was then I think Poch would have played him more, I trust in Poch's judgment on these things, he is the one that gets to see him on a daily basis in training matches.

I agree, numerous other problems in regards to bias from both sides as well but don't want to derail or talk politics lol.

What I will say is this, in terms of football news, I don't think I have ever seen the MSM so far behind in terms of what is/isn't happening.
I wonder whether they trawl fan forums for ITK.

What type of goals did the Golden Boot winner score last year.? Llorente is a statue compared to Kane. Do you think he's been our No 1 target all summer

I think in the current market he is probably the best striker we can get for our budget with proven experience in the PL, personally I think our first choice would have been Lukaku but we would have never got him, no chance, wage demands and fee make that obvious.

We probably have had other options but wage demands and other issues likely prevented us from getting them, that doesn't make him a bad striker, most strikers in world football are average compared to Kane, you can't expect us to bring in someone on his level, it's almost impossible.

Is he going to run the channels when Kane is not playing, pressing etc.....No!!!! I'll be happy to accept all your apologies when youre all slagging him off next year. I'll also eat a massive piece of humble pie if he turns out to be the missing ingredient.

i think replacing vinny skillset with llorente's is the strategy. We never had a plan b last year and all vinny provides is much of the same as kane, just not as good. i dont want to give up on vinny as he has decent skillset but lacked confidence, but i see where the club are going for llorente.

would suggest again that he's not being brought in as a like for like, he's coming in to allow Poch to change the system up when needed.. for that he is perfect..

Signing the Lion King makes a lot of sense, he is a genuine game changer I so much he adds an aerially dominant striker to the mix. I love VJ, but he's neither one thing nor the other in this league - not big enough to be a real target man, not mobile or quick enough to be a threat in behind, not quite sharp enough to be real fox in the box

Llorente is what he is and he is very bloody good at it, and he has decent touch and awareness as well. As others have mentioned, he is the best we could get who will be happy to play second fiddle whilst still being good enough to contribute when required

Son is back up for Kane, was last season and will be this. Also did a bloody good job of it. Llorente I'm sure will be a different option as vinny was, for desperate situations. Vinny, I guess, didn't want that role in this point in career.

He's been bought due to having a different skill set than Kane. He's a target man who can get on the end of a long ball or cross. I don't want him running channels I want him in the box getting on the end of things.

Kane can play the withdrawn striker role (which was more his position in his youth) so could easily partner an out and out centre forward, be it Llorente or Janssen if we wanted to go with more than one up top.

we might actually score during a corner with him in the side
I doubt it, Eriksen never clears the front man so we could have somebody 10 ft tall and it still won't make a difference

Has there ever been this much drama in signing a player that is destined to be on the bench wherever he ends up :ROFLMAO:

Interesting fact: he'll become only the fifth world cup winner to play for us, after Peters, Villa, Ardiles and Klinsmann

Edit: if he signs ofc
