BONY ON HIS WAY BACK

Sky Sports News' James Cole is in south Wales this Deadline Day and he's given us an update on Wilfried Bony’s proposed return to Swansea.

“He is on his way here, returning to the club, " he said. "The fee is somewhere in the region of £12m, having sold him to Manchester City for £28m. He should have his medical in the next few hours and be done by 9pm.

“This will allow Fernando Llorente to head to Chelsea. Swansea will see this as good business, with the money from Bony’s original sale and Llorente’s move.”

The reporters have mispoke numerous times when the camera is on them. He meant Tottenham.

Anyone else want this to happen really badly just to stick it to Chelsea?
Don't get me wrong I'm well happy if we sign him but I'm desperate we get it done now I know Conte wants him lol.

That's obviously nice, but just having a backup striker that could realistically score 10+ goals across all competitions is the cherry on top.

I think he'd be a great signing.

Pochettino went down the route of finding an affordable and promising young striker that would be happy to be a backup to Kane, but so far it hasn't worked out.

Good to see us trying another strategy by going for a proven and experienced player. Llorente is still a fine player, and one who has never needed pace. Having him as an option on the bench would be fantastic.

Really hopes this goes through.

Llorente will cause havoc coming off of the bench against teams who are physical and difficult to break down. Sometimes we lack experience and the ability to mix it up, and he will provide something new. Not a glamour signing by any means, but for £11m it's a no brainer really given his footballing CV and eye for goal.

EDIT: and it would be extra sweet given that Conte really wants him, and how he always speaks down about us in the press. A big f*ck you, Antonio (y)

The more I think on this the more I think this is potentially a brilliant and astute signing.
