To be fair, Townsend seems to like the big pitch at Wembley whenever he plays for England. Little bit of extra space does seem to open things up for him a bit more. I wouldn't start him on Sunday, but I don't think it would be the worst option for him to see some game time during the final.

Not too much attacking creativity in central midfield and definitely less of an attacking threat from the fulbacks (though Davies is good on the ball), a lot of pressure on the 3 amigos behind Bobby tonight.

Benji actually gets forward quite well... Very good lineup IMO

he did a decent job against chelsea in the 5-3 smashing, i love his pace against a slow matic-less Chelsea doesn't mean he is going to start

Stam actually played a load of games at CB for his French club.

Yep, I know he started quite a few there (Montpellier's awful disciplinary record meant they constantly had suspensions to deal with). Think he's just too tiny to make much of a CB though - you'd just launch balls over his head.

Uhhhhh, no. If we go into extra time and win, but the trade off is losing the Cap 1 final, I'd take it. We advance in the Europa, therefore still have 2 shots at making CL.

He played out of necessity because Lamela was hurt. In that game, Kane and Chadli were our best players in attack.

He played because his ability to beat players out wide stretched the field and made it much easier for Kane/Eriksen/Chadli to have their way with Matic. When the field is condensed to the middle, which happens often with Lamela's lack of 1v1 threat out wide, it is easy for Matic/Fabregas/Ramires/Mikel/etc to close down attacks. Townsend playing was key to that win, even if he didn't necessarily provide the moments of magic that Kane did.

Because of one poor half? Has been really good in the role behind kane and will start the cup final I think
