I don't think we would/could have signed him even had we had CL football

champions league was the problem and not his 200k per week wages?

If we wasted any time on this apart from one phone call to his agent then there are problems with our transfer strategy.

Agreed, he's out of our league. Like when we were supposedly bidding for Aguero

I hope we aren't wasting time chasing our tails for strikers we simply cannot attract because I have no doubt there is business we actually can do that will take us forward

We should be signing a Modric or a Berbatov level player and Adebayor in my opinion, someone who will go on to be in the top tier of strikers whilst playing for us not someone who is already there because we simply cannot attract them or pay the type of wage the will command.

My understanding is that:
a) He is not on the same sort of wages as the other stars at RM
b) He was a purchase of the last chairman and not popular with the current chairman of RM

so from our POV it's definitely worth at least an enquiry.... to dare is to do.. et al...

To Dare is to Do was to sign Rossi for £10m or whatever they wanted after he raped us at the Lane instead of waiting for him to blow up and then supposedly trying to sign him for 3 x that

What we should be daring to do is making the type of brave signings we used to (Bale. Modric, Berbatov) and the type of signings Newcastle have been doing recently (Tiote, Krul, Cisse, Ben Arfa, Ba, Caybaye) instead of wasting our time trying to sign players already too established at a higher level we simply won't be able to sign.

Its not daring to do trying to sign these types of players in my opinion, we should be trying to sign the potential ones and using smart scouting to identify which of these are most likely to be a success (as Newcastle have done so effectively and put us to shame recently in that respect)

I completely agree with you re: scouting and going for those with potential, but at the same time if you don't ask, you don't get. It didn't hurt us to ask.

yea but if we are wasting time chasing impossible targets and it leads to us missing out on more realistic targets then potentially that can hurt us as we can end up empty handed or chasing scraps before the window closes

Agreed, but by all accounts this was a casual enquiry. Imagine if we hadn't made that same type of enquiry about VDV at the beginning of the summer 2010 window, we might never have been offered him later because our interest wasn't known.

Lol he made 32 appearances for Real (don't know how many were starts) in the league and scored 22 league goals.

Hardly seems unsettled, fuck knows how Real fitted him, Benzema (who got 20 leagues goals) and Ronald (who got a facking obscene amount of league goals!) into the same team, but fit them in they seem to have done!

If we got Higuain or Benzema from Real, I would fap over each of you until I ran out of juicey ammo! :D

Which would probably be quite quick, but hey ho and all that.

Its this bizarre concept that as Spurs fans we are not really aware of called "squad rotation" or something like that, I've only heard of it and never witnessed with my own eyes so it could well just be a fairy tale

Point 1 - Very very glad we haven't signed either, then.
Point 2 - How many of us could you get in seven seconds??? :)

Lol I was just presuming as they'd both made a lot of league appearances and both broke the 20+ league goals mark that they must have started together quite a bit.

I'd pick a particular member, depending on my mood that day, and cover 'em! ;)

Probably be Tash or Hot-Spurs though.
