Defoe missed a few of those for Spurs over the years so let's not include those
Pointless discussing who scores pens and who missed a couple. Scoring Pens does not make you a good Striker, nor does it make you a bad one if you miss a few.

I was lucky enough to see Steve Archibald play , he didn't have a great goal scoring start at Spurs but his work rate and fighting spirit quickly made him a crowd favourite, and then the goals started to flow and he became a hero.
What frustrates me about Soldado, and I think it is more than just a confidence thing, is that he just does not look like he is braking his balls to turn things around.

That is just one of many issues I have with him

If he was working his socks off and trying his absolute hardest then it would be something at least

Can somebody please clarify to me what Grey Fox meant when he said 'don't worry he's coming'.

Cheers.

To be fair, it takes a while to settle into the league - the guy needs a goal and a run of games. look at giroud at them lot, don't remember him doing much last season but it's a different story this year. Get behind him, the guy needs a break - I still think he'll come good.

there is precedent.... he would hardly be the first striker to ever come here and have a bad first season.

He was poor today though, really let our whole offensive dimension down.

Just so you know, Defoe had at least 4 offers from England

He turned them down for obvious reasons

Cos they were not from good teams... And that's my point.... No good team wants him. Do you think he would have turned down man utd, man city, arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool?

He wouldnt get in the Man City or Man United teams due to their amazing strike forces but Chelsea and ****nal would love to have him considering

Dont think anyone is saying Defoe is the greatest striker in the World, just that he offers more than Soldado.

Im bored now and I cant be arsed to keep replying, plus I really do have to get showered and what not

Enjoy your night :)

Yeah, must have made quite a mess when you started your monthly cycle as soon as the final whistle blew!!

Peter Crouch scored 22 goals in 40 games

And with that, im off!

Yep, more than your beloved Defoe, but in fewer matches. Enjoy your night :)
