The Premier League: where La Liga no-marks like Michu star too. Horses for courses. You comparing La Liga to to the Eridivisie now?

Soldado may never make it over here, but to dismiss his record over there is folly.

It is easier to score goals in la liga than in the Premier league.

Michu? the guy who almost scored as many in La Liga for Vallecano the season before he moved to Swansea despite not playing as a CF?

He wouldnt get in the Man City or Man United teams due to their amazing strike forces but Chelsea and ****nal would love to have him considering

Is that why they put in a bid for him?

In that case they also want soldado since they love their Spaniards but soldado wanted to earn his spurs at WHL.

I will say one thing in Soldado's defence. I am always confident he will score his penalty. There's a lot to be said for that since we've largely been shit to patchy since Keane left the first time.

Defoe is one of the worst penalty taking strikers ever. Still scored one against us mind.

Dont think anyone is saying Defoe is the greatest striker in the World, just that he offers more than Soldado.

And my point is we have given Defoe 8 years to establish himself as a bench warmer so why not give soldado at least until next season? If Defoe was so prolific for us, so important to us, offered so much, then why do professional managers disagree with you?

Two managers prefer soldado. One even thought sod that I'd rather play Ade than Defoe. Remember he was a bench warmer behind Keane too for a long time.

That shows how bad we are, how can a team have so good stats and scramble a 1-1 draw. That's why there is negativity. Half of that possession was passing sideways.

AVB would have been Sabre rattling had he managed us with those stats.

Also bear in mind that Hull were without one of their central first team players in Livermore, therefore should have been in a weak position. Not saying Livermore is the be all and end all, but he is important for them. Terrible result. Anyone who doesn't think so needs to explain what they want from Spurs. Because we can't afford slip ups like this if we want to finish top four. February is a crucial time of the season, especially given our March. We haven't started this phase well.

Bet Brenda was saying the same thing after getting flounced 3-1 a few weeks back.

With Townsend and Sandro to come back into the side what i want is to read less bullshit from fickle fans who let's face it wouldn't be happy with Messi playing for us unless he chucked in a hat-trick every other week.

Livermore is as important to them as Ruel Fox was to us. I mean do you truly think that Livermore that bastion of talent would have made a shits difference when faced with Paulinho and Bentaleb? Really.

Fair enough, but I think 26 mil for a penalty taker is a bit much though.
Still, it's not my money;)

I did say that was the one thing I can say in Soldado's defence ;-)

I wouldn't have paid £26 for him if it were my money.

Thing is, we can't afford to slip up like this if Liverpool are going to be dicking us 5-0.

We have to at least be beating the teams below us, since we're incapable of beating the teams above us.

La Liga eh? That league where a lot of decent players score a lot of goals and top players score more goals than there are games...

I remember when Afonso Alves scored 34 in 31 for Heerenveen. Can't remember how many he got for Middlesbrough in the PL though.

Do you think that Suarez would have scored more than a goal a game for us like he is doing for the Bin Dippers? That after missing the first six games? We have never had a prolific goal machine since Greaves and Allen, and certainly not since the PL was formed, and that looks like continuing for the foreseeable future.

Really only 2 players were at a decent standard today, Ade' and Bentelab.

With regards to Tim Sherwood, much like everyone I just don't understand what he was doing (or not) today. 2 of the most under performing players on the pitch, in Lennon and Soldado were left on. Paulinho who was clearly knackered and could have done with coming off for his own good.

You know in most games, theres usually something that irritates you? well, a couple of things that stood out as particularly irritating to me today:-

1) Lennon running horizontally across the pitch from the right wing to the left, invariably losing the ball. Why?

2) Lloris kamikaze off the line (he is a superb keeper imo)

2) Spurs could have ripped Hull apart on the counter attack. We played far too slow a pace when coming forward for the most part. It gave Hull time to get 9 men behind the ball, honestly, it looked like Liverpool St Station in rush hour in their box at times. When Spurs did put a rare, fast paced counter attack in they couldn't handle it. Why didn;t they capitalise on that?

Anyway, I hope I don't sound too pessimistic. Much room for improvement, hope we see it in the next game.
