Interesting watching motd highlights and the less Liverpool leaning commentary and punditry; gave me the feeling that we didn’t do too badly. All the same, dele wasn’t there at all today, and the same for Eriksen... not good enough..

People saying Poch's tactics almost worked, yeah ok that's 1 win in 16 games against Liverpool, 11 losses, many by just 1 goal margin, most of those games under Poch management (13 games, 8 defeats)

Still, his tactics almost worked...
That's an interesting perspective you have there, @Escher.

The same pundits that put eriksen on some sort of pedestal that he is a god! The bloke used to run 10k in a game. We are lucky if we get 10m. Beyond useless

We were well beaten...the bit that pisses me off is they are not that good. If we had 11 on the pitch we could have won

This year yes. In total not even close

It's been covered already with various levels of detail, but Poch's reign has seen us spend more net than Klopp's time at Liverpool, even excluding the Lo Celso option (yes, an extra season, yes more gross, blah blah...)

Has Poch ever considered that giving Tanguy, Lo Celso and Foyth more minutes might help with their fitness?

Or just more laps of the pitch at the training ground until they can complete the bleep test.

I still can’t get my head around Poch making the same decisions over and over and over and expecting different results. It’s either stubbornness or stupidness. Neither is flattering for him.

It was embarrassing.

The scoreline wasn't.

We're on a run of our worst form in years, and they're on their best in their entire time in the PL.

Losing by one goal in the grand scheme of things is closer to "expected", and far off "embarrassing". Based on recent form, I reckon a fair few of us wouldn't have been shocked if they had a cricket score.

The last time our away form was this bad George Graham was manager.

Let the cards fall wherever you wish, but when Poch said we need to be competing against Liverpool, looking at the table the tonight he should concentrate on Sheffield United, Bournemouth, West Ham and Palace fist i think.

We are never in the same league as Liverpool, City and the like.

I'm not really sure how this relates to what I was saying, to be honest. Some posters are claiming we got embarrassed today, whereas some of us are explaining that the scoreline wasn't an embarrassment.

We were shit lucky it wasnt a cricket score.
I do think we put in effort today but whats really pissed me off and I think some others, isnt the result, as you say we were hardly expected to win, or even the performance, but that again despite that great result mid week after dropping those under performing want aways he once again made 4 bloody changes and brought them back in. Just how shit do they have to be before he can see they just arent performing.
This leads me to believe that the little bit of hope I naively let rise midweek, that we'd turned the corner is not going to come because he just refuses to see whats in front of his own eyes. Rose, Eriksen and Winks were bloody awful.

Our keeper made a PL season high twelve saves in a single game.

Call it what you want but the truth is that the league table and those keeper stats aren't opinions, just the facts .

It's one of those things that used to wind me up with Soldado (going back a while). I remember he'd finally score a goal and get some confidence then Sherwood would drop him. It was almost a "shit, can't have you looking good" thing and felt like sabotage.

That's what it feels like right now - like Poch drops players to make a point, then it works out, then he reverts back again for no reason at all.

Keeper stopped balls going in net, therefore scoreline wasn't an embarrassment.

Net result: Scoreline still wasn't an embarrassment

But how many of them were great saves. Most were straight at him and if he hadn't saved all would moan. Statistics or facts can be misleading also.

The really sad thing is if you had said a 2-1 loss to me before the game I would have bit your hand off. Today's game was similar to the Man City game away. Just wave after wave of attacks deep in our territory which somehow the opposing team wasted. Did we even have a corner for Mr Eriksen to take? He must have been delighted.

We totally amd utterly deserved to lose today.

That's the bottom point.

Anybody that disagrees with that is off their fucking rocker.

Exactly. We got a fucking battering, we looked like a league one side and was clinging on all game. It's embarrassing how much spurs fans will suck up from Poch and his incompetent mismanagement. We are the third best squad in the league reduced to an embarrassment of a side who now go to City and Liverpool like a league one side and get a shoeing.

The scoreline should have read 7 - 1 to liverpool, that would have been about fair.

Anyone who thinks today was credible deserves the rubbish we are getting served up.

I can't put into words how demented Poch's team selection was, his decision to start winks in Ndombele's place. To play Rose and Eriksen, and then leave them on for so long. The lack of courage in the tactics and attitude.

Poch needs to fuck off. It's impossible to enjoy spurs whilst that joke is in charge.

I think it will be the same score as last season - 2-1 to Liverfool. We will give a good account of ourselves and a much better performance than recently in the Premiership but alas we will still lose narrowly.
Damn, I am in the wrong job...

The problem with the EPL media coverage and especially the in-house coverage is that the tough questions are not asked of the managers.

The Spurs TV interview was cringeworthy. The other post game comments from the manager on other networks were all cliche and platitudes.

The likes of Roy Keane can sit in the studio and make hard hitting statements, but why not give him a microphone and have him ask Poch why he started Aurier and Rose? And then have the follow up questions ready to go when he shoots the initial one down. The journalists want the quick quote for the back page or Twitter feed. The analyst in the studio is playing to the watching audience which is not really Spurs fans. Controversy sells.

Poch is getting away with it right now because no one will seriously challenge him in a press conference or post game interview. The depth of knowledge of the team and the season is not there.

Poch is running out of time. He is fast becoming like his mentor Bielsa. Burns bright for a year or two then quickly burns out and wins nothing.

A couple of questions not related to the manager:
Does anyone on here think Harry Kane went into the dressing room post game and had a go at Eriksen or Rose?
Do some of our players start and play because of the bonus structure of their contracts?
