We soaked up a lot of pressure tonight, which would have usually resulted in goals. And we did it with 10 men! There is still room for improvement, but i was much happier with our performance tonight, and considering we are not at full strength, it makes the result al the more pleasing!

Amazing result. Just watched the highlights on ITV and only so much you can make for them but well played all the lads and Ramos with good subs.

Robbo made some suberb saves, great play from Berba and I feel a little sorry for JD but he had to make way (still needs to watch his offsides!!)

Can't believe we have kept 2 clean sheets away from home in 2 consecutive games against teams with unbeaten home records EekEekEek:eek:mg:

Just got in from the game...........have to say it was fantastic to watch..........didn't think the sending off was a sending off, and the referee was appalling.......

The atmosphere was electric, it was only spoilt by some of the chants coming from the city 'fans' singing gas chamber songs, and coin throwing when we scored the second goal.

Spurs were a true joy to watch, they just seemed so confident on the ball, is this really our underconfident defence of a month ago.......it just seems unreal......but go on spurs all the way.....

And at the end when they all came over and started throwing their shirts, and well Kaboul his shorts.......was just electric........

Yido all the way!!!

Zokora getting sent off for a good old slide tackle didn't just nearly cost us the game but also means the paying publc will miss the skills of Zokora for the next 3 matches.
Not even worth appealing I wouldn't think.

If we draw the goons in the semis it'll be interesting to see how Ramos does against the Arsenal brats compared to Jol. Plus, they'll have no Baptista and I don't rate Eduardo.

Bring them on I say!!!!

have you watched their highlights?

Our first goal must have had at least 10 passes, maybe close to 15, before Defoe shoved the ball in the onion bag. It was an excellent passage of play, carving a side apart that previously had an unbeaten home record, in the first few minutes of the game. If we can carry that type of form through for the next couple of months we will be ripping the likes of Fulham, Reading, Villa et al apart and leap up the table.

Special mention to O'hara. When everything started for our second goal he was close to the edge of our six yard box, but made himself available to Berbatov and kept his head with a lovely pass across to Steed. It would have been easy for him to saunter out of defence and the move would never have happened. It would also have been easy for him to shag up his pass to Steed, but it was great to see the young lad keep his cool.

Shattered today but i am so glad i went up there last night. Before the sending off i thought that was some of the best football we have played in a long time. And after the sending off we finally defended like a team and fought for each other. Great to see Robbo as well pull out two top draw saves

Well said. And we did that two or three times before Zokora got his marching orders. Malbranque fluffed a chance at the end of a similar move involving 15 or more passes. We were shifting the ball around the pitch incredibly quickly at times, making the City midfield do doggies and most of it was one and two touch stuff.

Massive result! 2 really good away wins to go into the scum game, I'm certainly more confident than I was!

I've only seen brief highlights, but the first goal was real class, absolutely carved City open - they never got near it! Second was a quality ball from O'Hara, who looks a real prospect. It would be really nice to have a proper home grown talent come through and make it!

As for the sending off - was Steve Bennett drunk? That has to be one of the worst decisions of the season! And of course it won't be rescinded and we've lost another "centre back".

Still great performance to go on and win it after such an awful decision. I hope JD gets the start on Saturday alongside Berba, we're certainly not getting the best out of Bent at the moment for whatever reason.

Another away win, another clean sheet. This time with 10 men (we only had 10 men). Heroic performance.

I saw the whole game live in a pub, and what you didn't see on ITV's highlights was the stellar performance by Kaboul and Chimbonda in clearing countless crosses thrown in by an increasingly desperate City. I guess they weren't included in the highlights because nothing came of them, and that was down to good positioning by our CBs. A couple of world-class saves by Robbo, too.

Our first goal reminded me of Robbie Keane's second at Boro last season. Jenas plays a ball inside the wide defender, Lennon runs onto it and crosses for it to be tucked away.

Having bigged him up so much I was delighted Jamie O'Hara made such a terrific pass for the second. Although what Steeeeed was thinking when got the ball, I don't know.

"Zut alors! Ah coood shoot ferst tahm. Mais non! Ah shall make a meg of nuts on zee defender ferst!"

After losing that chance in the first half through hesitation it was a brave decision, but fortune favoured the brave this time.

It was good to see us defend slightly further up the field in the second half, instead of lining up on the edge of our own area. And Berb did a sterling job of chasing everything, albeit it at a leisurely pace.

Let's hope they're not all too pooped for Saturday.

Any mileage in the Defoe rant that Graham Roberts on Sky was on about? It sounded like a very familiar recent occurance....just hope Defoe's head is right for Saturday.

Robbie Earle said on ITV last night that Defoe was actually ranting at the fourth official for Zokora's sending off.

Therefore I choose to believe that as it is more positive.

Quite right as he walked it was obvious he was moaning at he 4th official who started after him until Gus intercepted him.

Please don't get me started on Roberts again:evil:
