But as you keep saying we are playing poorly right now, scrapping out results.

I'd argue if we are in a title or top 4 decider come the last day of the season, it'll be because we've improved significantly. It might also be a dead rubber for City if they've already won the title by then.
or for us ;)

Exactly.

If we are looking at postponements, the big silver lining is that Conte has more time to work on the training pitch.

Postponing this fixture in particular is more to our advantage than City's.

Also, could be they don't have an extra days rest later on in the season.

My reasoning is that City just drew with Villa, so are not in top top form. Probably a better time for us to go there. Towards the end of the season they could be flying and far more focussed than they are now. I just don't think it's great if our game in hand is that lot away.

In any case it's out of our control.

Cabinet office guidance on mourning period just out:

There is no expectation on the public or organisations to observe specific behaviours during the mourning period”

It will be up to the premier league what it wants to do - nothing stopping them going ahead with fixtures, or not going ahead with them

Still got to play every team twice, same as everyone else.

Agreed. Win, lose or draw against City one of the positives about the start to the season we’ve had is that we’ve already would’ve played Chelsea, West Ham and City all away in our first 7 games. As you say, having City away towards the end of the season would suck.
Would be better to play City later and rest before Sporting

True but there are better and worse times to play teams.

For example., if Leicester at home on Saturday gets postponed, that would be annoying. They are absolutely terrible at the moment, great time to play them. If it's moved into later in the season, Rodgers could be gone and a new man is in charge and they've sorted themselves out.

But with City, I guess there's never a good time to play them.

It'll be swings and roundabouts for everyone.

I hope this weekend's games still go ahead.

The Queen loved sport - it would be a great tribute if there were packed stadiums singing the national anthem/having a minute's silence before the game.

If we end up playing Leicester as our 7th league game with some additional rest before the Arsenal game then that may well help us build up a bit of momentum. I’d definitely be inclined to look at this from a positive angle.

But not such a great look if thousands of idiots sing silly songs mocking her. It was only a couple of weeks ago that Liverpool fans booed the national anthem for which 80% of them probably had no idea why but just following the crowd.

Liverpool will be playing at home on Tuesday, so pretty much delaying the inevitable. Will be some idiots trying to go viral.

Would rather play city now as they’ll have to use a makeshift defence. They were already conceding quite heavily before Walker and stones got injured but they will probably have to play Akanji and Gomez, can definitely be got at.

I imagine next weekend's schedule is subject to funeral arrangements, and any other funeral-related scheduling quirks.

Agreed. Reckon the Leicester game is more likely to be postponed as it seems that will be the day of the Funeral itself and, quite apart from issues of "respect" London will be jampacked.

Yeah I suppose you can spin it that way and who knows you could be right but I’d rather stick to our schedule to be honest.
Fair enough, then we get the schedule Conte was moaning like crazy about.
What's the point of all that moaning, then go ahead and do it anyway
Not only do we probably lose to City, we're tired for the trip to Lisbon
The schedule was ridiculous, if we get a chance to ease it, do so

But then we could just be moving the congestion to a later, more key part of the season. Pros and cons to both though and we won’t know the best option

I think if it gets postponed tomorrow then it is an advantage to us definitely going forward.
