Also, are you saying that the system isn't rigid given your use of "rigid" in your post?You do understand that they are playing in that same ‘rigid’ system, when they play positively, right? The difference is they are starting games passively. Very low intensity. So, if the system was too rigid, how is it they are able to ratchet up the intensity within that system, when they make a mental shift. The system can’t be both the blame for poor starts and be ignored when we play well. Yes, it is a strange conundrum, as you said yourself, it has been a long term issue. Regardless of whatever system they’ve been playing.
