Yep, a known quality to have scored something like 13 goals before the end of November (last season) and has been pretty much baron ever since.
He scored 7 of his PL goals before November, and 7 after November- and has scored a further 3 this season (and he's barely playing).

Still not a consistent scorer. No different to Defoe, who'd score in batches, but never consistently, and unable to lead the line.

As I stated, if Berahino is signed, he'll get the same support as everyone else. I just don't believe he's what we need, or that he's good enough to play at the level we aspire to reach. Hell, he was pretty much matched by Chadli last season (in the PL) and the majority of our supporters don't seem to have a good thing to say about him, or don't think he's good enough.

To be thought of in that way, yet still pretty much match someone who's going to cost upwards of £20mil, and Chadli's not even been used as the central striker, unlike Berahino. I'm not understanding the Berahino infatuation at all.

We need a striker, some don't care who as long as we sign one.

For me, if Poch wants him then go get him (if Peace doesn't act like a major egotist again).

HNY btw

He's 22 mate, just because he isn't consistent now, it doesn't mean he won't be if he signs or in the future.

Because Poch has fallen for him and wants no one else. Its how WBA knew they can hold us hostage in the summer. And thats how the fans are now convinced Berahino is the answer to all our prayers.

Now that's a post that makes more sense (to me).. I have no choice but to hope, if we get him, Pochettino can make the lad keep his feet on the ground, and help him fulfil the potential he appears to have.

From what I've seen of Berahino so far, Poch's biggest battle is going to be how to make Berahino work hard, and play as part of the team. At the moment, I think he's too similar to Defoe, and there's a reason that practically every manager Defoe has played for, has ended up using him as a sub. It's team ethic that's getting our results these days, and it's surely of primary importance that we maintain that togetherness & willingness to fight for each other?

Berahino has got great potential and under Pochettinho he can take he's game up a few more notches.

He is an excellent finisher when you look at the type of goals he's scored. He can and has played we Kane at national level, about leading the line on he's own, It's possible with how we play.... Eriksen and others would enjoy playing with a striker on the move.

Whats more, it sounds like the scouting and Pochettinho himself like the player.

And that last bit really is what matters most.

It's nothing more than an evolution of the original discussion. People brought up Berahino because, if our club is willing to fork out upwards of £20mil on Berahino, then supporters are wondering why that can't be the case for Batshit (y)

Michy Batshuayi closing in on Marseille contract extension
Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi is closing in on signing a contract extension at the club until 2020.

This extension will give Marseille greater bargaining power when it comes to selling the Belgian international in the summer transfer window.

According to L’Équipe, a host of Premier League sides are very interested in the player including Arsenal, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and most of all Tottenham, the latter of whom informed Marseille of their interest in signing Batshuayi this month.

But Michy is not for sale this month and should he sign a contract extension in the coming days, all speculation should finally subside.

Unless Poch is adamant that he wants Berahinho and we can get him early then I think we should be looking at a short term loan until the summer and then go all out to get this guy.

Two words - Anthony Martial...

I may be being a little cynical, but in the light of that Monaco deal, I'm tempted to suggest this is somewhat of a gentleman's agreement. "You sign a new deal and we will let you go, as we get a bigger fee".

Yeah agree and it almost certainly means we won't get him as we prefer to bid for players who's contracts are running down as it gives us more leverage.
