Holloway has failed badly in some jobs before Blackpool, no way is he a Spurs standard manager

The past is the past. The current is that he has taken Blackpool, expected to fight relegation in the Championship, into the Premier League, and having spent almost nothing, looks like keep them here and all with good football as opposed to the usual thuggery you get from new sides. He has gotten the best out of players you wouldn't expect to cut it at this level like Campbell and Taylor Fletcher, he has turned Charlie Adam into one of the hottest properties around and he has proved what you don't need big bucks to play high quality football. Good in the transfer market, good on the chalkboard, good from the touchline and a good character too. I would love to see what he could do with Modric, Bale, Lennon etc if in 2012 he's kept Blackpool up again and Harry becomes England boss.

What about Benitez? His preference is to manage in the prem apparently. I dunno, don't think he's a bad manager but his footballing philosophy seems at odds with Spurs as a club.

The DMs/deeper CMs he'd have at his disposal here might cause him to have a permanent chubby.

Wouldn't be my first choice but I'm not sure I'd be as against it as I think many on here would.

I think Holloway's talents would be far better served as England manager, I think he would make a good England manager and the media love him but I am not convinced he has the tactical nous to handle CL matches for example for Spurs, we need someone who has a lot of experience to replace Harry when he goes, ideally someone that has managed in the CL before although as Harry has shown that is not essential but Harry is experienced at the top level Holloway isn't

I think Mourinho still has Chelsea in his heart so I don't think he would go to a local rival such as us.

Should keep an eye on Villas Boas though, to manage one of your countries top clubs at 33 and to have had the tutelage of Jose could make him another special one.

I think thoughts about Holloway are premature. Like when Paul Jewell got Wigan promoted and the orange man at Hull people got too excited. Blackpool will probably get relegated this season anyway.

Owen Coyle has steeped up nicely to each role he has had so from the big fish in a small pond stock I'd go for him.

Out of everyone Mourinho would be number one choice though whether he'd comes to us would depend a lot on his options.

I think if Mcclaren did a good job somewhere else then he should also be considered though he's not an option right now.

I'm with dcm. Blackpool's league position is precarious. With Wolves and West Ham several times more convincing, they're in deep shit. They simply draw too many games. I'm pretty sure they're going down - they couldn't beat a dreadful Blackburn side from 2-0 up on the weekend.

Ask yourself, if it weren't for Charlie Adam (who, by the way, learnt his trade and perfected his craft at Rangers, not under Holloway), what would your opinion of Holloway be? Blackpool would have about 15-20 points, by the way.

Silly accent, silly man, silly suggestion to lead Spurs (sorry).

Although, I admit, they play lovely football and the Premier League has been a better place for him and his team this season.

gus poyet maybe darkhorse

Indeed. He's doing even better at Brighton than at the Dirty Lids where many fans believe he was the reason for their resurgence (although Dennis Wise got more credit). He'll be mid-table with Brighton in the Champs next season so definitely deserves a bigger club. But I don't think he'll come back to us and Levy would want a bigger name to sign the very best, I would imagine.

I'm fairly sure our next manager will be foreign with experience of managing some of the best players in England. Beyond that I wouldn't like to say.

If Poyet keeps doing well then could be back one day, way too soon for him though.

Not damaged too much in my eyes from what happened before, dont think he had that much input under Ramos. Just seemed to be bought in as the translator who knew a bit about the club and English football.

From what I heard it was Ramos who had little input and left it to Poyet to do pretty much everything. Nevertheless, he is one of the brightest young coaches in the country. Mind you, the same was said about Di Matteo 12 months ago, and now he is jobless. Give Gus more time to learn his trade.

Surely it simply HAS to be David O'Leary?

That man definitely knows his way around a transfer or two. Yes yes we could go for someone with a certain level of tactical nouse and coaching ability, but O'Leary knew how to throw the cash and throw it hard and isn't that, ultimately, the only thing we Spurs fans care about?
