By the way, does anybody know what happened to Parklane Block 34, this sort of performance was right up his street.

Dare I say he has been banned...?

Fact is, we had our shot at cementing our CL credentials but Levy didn't take it and now our time is up. Let's face it, we where never going to keep finishing top four whilst selling our best players season after season and replacing them with mediocrity. It was only going to be a matter of time before other clubs pounced. Liverpool will probably be taking "our" top four spot for the next few season and I'm not even angry or surprised about it, I'm just disappointed that we didn't push on as club when the opportunity was there.

IF we are very lucky and we get a A-list manager after the WC, manage to hold onto all our players and buy a few more quality additions and Utd/Liverpool do poor business in the summer we MAY get another shot at CL next seasons... But I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm actually looking forward to this season and the next few seasons because I've given up hope so I won't get as nervous/worried anymore.

I am just really looking forward to seeing Lamela back in action, he and Eriksen are the only two players that one can get exited by watching. Just upsets me that he has been out for most of the season. As for top four, agreed, let's just try and enjoy the football... If it's possible with the way we play.

How many buts have you got in there...bloody hell!

Excuses for everything and of course the old....they were God awful shite teams.

I find this sort of post amazing I really do. You're actually saying that today was a typical performance under Sherwood?

Ok we were totally out played by City and we very poor against Palace in the first half but you're in complete denial if you think that performance today has been the way we've played under Sherwood in the main.

We were completely hopeless today and its utter crap to try and pretend that sort of level of performance would of got us 23 points from 30 in the last ten games - utter madness.

I've said repeatedly that its not just down to the Europa League but it plays a part IMO - the extent of which is debatable and hard to quantify but its relevant and it obviously has some sort of affect.

We created very little today. It wasn't until well into the second half that Soldado and then Chadli had semi decent chances. We've created far more in nearly every other game we've played under Sherwood thus far - so lets not make out this was a typical performance under Sherwood - it wasn't.

It was a bloody tired looking one.

To be honest that was way more than a semi decent chance, 6 yards out with just the keeper to beat.

I just don't get the enigma that is Chadli, just by looking at him he has everything that should be needed to be an absolute beast, a Bale mk11 if you please. Pace - Check, Height - Check, Buildt like a brick shit house - Check, a good shot - Check, comfortable on both feet - Check. yet he just doesn't seem to believe in himself, looks happy to just be on the periphery of the game, unwilling to run a defender and drive on into the box. Never have I been so "meh" about a signing (well since Siggy) than when we signed him. I tend to watch a lot of Dutch football (dutch roommate) and hes always been the same whenever ive seen him.

Like I said to MrPink.

What about all the times we didn't play a EUFA cup game before and still looked as poor? Yes we may have been tired, but I really think that this is just a soft excuse, personally.

We have some serious issues at the club. Like Levy's interference in the football side of things, buying players we don't need, when we need cover for LB. We can't pass a ball half the time, we can't take corners, no movement on the pitch... And this is clearly not because we are tired.

Substitute "football" with the word money. That then would be accurate.

As for buying the wrong or right player. Not DL's problem, just how much they cost.

Who they actually are is more a Baldini + AVB/TS call I would have thought.

If DL was buying players, I doubt Lemala would be here (if he still is).

OK LVG comes for one or two years. Then what?

We need stop thinking short term. Sherwood is doing no worse than AVB. Yes we need better but not LVG. He's not the future. He 'may' do well for a couple of years.

Liverpool were prepared to go through days like today and look to the future. TS may not be the right man, but he needs to be given more time.

Not sure what you've seen from Lamela to get excited about?

Unless Levy is prepared to spend £50m plus on three or four very good players, the manager is irrelevant. We'll carry on in 5th at best.

It was our worst performance under Sherwood, so in that respect all his previous games have not been as bad as that. In a number of them we have been as bad in spells, usually the first half. This was the first time we turned out such dross for a whole game. But because we have been bad to varying degrees in almost every match since he took charge (Palace, WBA, Everton, Man City, Arsenal and Hull especially) I can't say I'm overly surprised to see an entire match turn out that way.

You're perhaps missing my point - I'm not claiming the Europa League has absolutely zero impact on subsequent league matches, most things aren't as black and white as that. But even those who didn't play on Thursday weren't much good (simply because, perhaps Lloris aside, they were all poor) which indicate it is more than fatigue from playing on Thursday. Still, it's baffling how Eriksen only managed to play 26 minutes during over the course of two games.

Our lack of chances created also wasn't down to tiredness. If that was the case, how come our only good chances came towards the end of the game? It was something like 80 minutes before we managed a shot on target. No, the lack of chances was down to Norwich defending well, the lack of creativity in midfield (it was sat on the bench again) and Adebayor not getting enough support from Paulinho. Indeed, Adebayor's chance came from a Norwich mistake. I think this game was one where Sherwood should have gone with both Adebayor and Soldado, then we might have looked more cohesive created some chances from the start. In fact I'd be very surprised if he doesn't revert to this for Cardiff.

I hear what you're saying, but all our 'look to the future' managers always end up getting sacked after 2 years anyway.
We've always said our club has lacked that winning mentality, so for me, installing a proven winner to help install that mentality here. Even if it is just for 2 years, setting that mindset in our club really is looking at the future and can only be a good thing.

Might have been said already but but how bad was Dawson today he will normally give 100% but today he just did not look intrested like a lot of them. I would love to know what his pass completion rate is because his passing today was very poor like it is most of the time and im actually a big fan of his just think a premier league footballer should be able to pass from a to b which he really needs to work on

i know he has won alot evrywhere he has been but these were serious clubs with top top players already in them...what in da fuck can LVG do with this shower of shit in all honesty... some woeful players in spurs team let alone squad and no coaching or world class manager can chnage that .. they really cant....coaches can give some players confidence but if players dont have it in them then it doesnt matter.. too many coaches have tried ( i think!!) with this lots and they keep producing the same sort of shite...

Exactly. I'm so sick of this nonsense. There's so many Lamela experts at White Hart Lane they must also have been season ticket holders at Roma last year. He might be good in the end, and of course we hope so, but on the admittedly limited evidence so far, it's odds against. Don't get the clamour for Eriksen either really. Can only remember one or two good-ish performances from him. Generally average. Now he's some kind of messiah? Do me a favour. Those people that love these players so much must not have watched Bale, Modric and Van der Vaart.

I don't think anyone is saying he's on that level. But at least he has some guile in his play, unlike the rest of our midfield.

We don't have a winning mentality because we haven't won anything with this group of players. We won't get that winning mentality if we don't try to win cups when they are there to be won.

Success breeds success and right now we do not have a philosophy in place to create that winning environment. Our philosophy is focused on qualifying for the Champions League not as champions but as the third or fourth best team in England.

Man City used the FA Cup as their springboard to the title. JM won the League Cup to get Chelsea into the habit of winning again. AF took the League Cup serious in years when the title was beyond Man United. Continental clubs have won the UEFA/EC to create a foundation for future success. Athletico Madrid and Porto for example.

Why are we as a club above winning the League Cup or the Europa Cup? How will we become a winning club if we don't actually win anything?
