At the end of the day it doesn't really matter what its official name is, it comes down to what the fans want to call it. For that will be its name to us.

It wouldn't be a permanent thing though.

Didn't the goons get something like £100 million for 15 years? Not to be sneezed at.

Once the 15 years expire, they are free to call it what they like, or do another deal, depending on their finances. Turn down £100 million? I know we're well run, but we're not that well run. We probably need to do this in order to proceed with the thing at all.

One day it'll become WHL again.........

the Club never began the naming " white hart lane " - it was the media - the ground is not located at white hart lane and there is no reason for it to be named that way now nor years ago - its probably the most inaccurate/inappropriate/misleading ground name in britain

It's nearest station is White Hart Lane and it was originally teh White Hart ground, the land at the rear of the White Hart, it's a small step to being called White Hart Lane.

To be fair if we were going on the views of someone who doesn't know anything about football I imagine they'd get slightly more lost looking for the Emirates stadium.

At least White Hart Lane keeps you sort of nearby.

yes i forsee protests coming.

i think if it makes us even more financially stable and able to compete with the big boys, why not?

I feel it needs to be the box shape, the bowls seem to be souless to me. All the great grounds are box shape.

most new grounds, regardless of design are pretty soulless.

I dunno when I think Emirate I tend to think of the region of the world at the bottom of the arabian peninsula. My initial thought doesn't really point me to a stadium in Stoke Newington to be honest.

For example a friend comes running and says you won't believe what happened in the Emirates!!!!

I would be thinking country not stadium.

We can still make it work. We should look for sponsorship from Whitelight rigging, Heart FM, and Lane Fox Estate agents. Put 'em all together and what 'ave you got....

Rigging radio fox stadium...i mean WhiteHeartLane (not spelt correctly, but our phonetic home!!)

I can live with it being named after a decent big brand, a big multinational or whatever, we'll get cash, it won't sound THAT bad, hell, everyone will have a nickname for it anyway (or just call it WHL)... so long as we don't go the way of United...

The Abbey is now called "The Trade Recruitment Stadium"... the stadium announcer is almost apologetic when he says it!

I like the idea of semi-advertising name... something like "Puma's White Hart Lane" or "The White Hart Mansion"

the problem for the incoming sponsor is the site will be pretty much the same as the current white hart lane stadium, so people will stil call it whl apart from the media who will be obliged to call it by its offical title.

For the scum its different as you can call your new ground highbury when its somewhere totally different !
