I really think we can land Paulinho and Villa before July and then get in a couple more before August is up... Looks like Baldini is getting shit done though

Dembele - Sandro - Paulinho

IF ( and i really hope it does) happen.

This could easily easily become the best trio partnership in the PremierLeague!!!

They are pure beasts who will overrun any midfield on the pitch. Each of them posses amazing abilty that compliments each other.

But i must say it is imperative we bring someone in who can pull the strings and lay out those visionary passes we desperately needed last season. I honestly think the closest we have is Lewis Holtby, so if worse comes to worse and we end up bringing no one in i have full faith in him.

Either way bringing Paulinho in will add huge quality in our midfield and will relieve the pressure off dembele who we relied on alot.

It feels a bit like that great night so long ago when Luka joined late Friday. I think that's what started fun-time friday and finally it seems to have returned. Hottie must be the happiest person on the planet

Nah, FTF was way before that. Because it started as Funtime Franky Fridays. The summer of the Santinista Revolution, Frank Arnesen unveiled a sequence of signings on consecutive Fridays. It was bizarre and brilliant in equal measures and spoiled us rotten.

I sometimes think our fans would derive more satisfaction if we sold our entire squad, went back to mid-table mediocrity but then unveiled a new signing at least once a week through the transfer window.

Who knows, maybe that's why we've brought in Baldini...?

Ugh....what? We've signed no one. And theres always a plethora of paper talk. Too early to judge either positively or negatively.

Going to F5 the shit out of the official site untill this transfer is confirmed

Good luck with that.

This has been like all our deals that have actually happened, information-wise. Media broke it first of all, ITK padded the story out and several different 'big guns' shared positive vibes. Normally about 2 weeks out from the announcement, ITK are saying the deal is v close. One week out from the OS announcement, media are saying the same thing. In the next week, there will be a sudden and unexpected link for Paulinho in the media, which will be bollocks and last-minute efforts from the agent or selling club to get us to agree to a clause in the contract. We then need to do the official photos, interviews or whatever. There will be two days where ITKs say lots of "It's done, I don't know why it's not announced yet." Meanwhile posters will deny it and throw themselves off the nearest cliff. Finally, it will be announced.

My guess, for what it's worth, is Tuesday July 2.

So what you're saying is "100% deal done"?

Momentum certainly seems to be building. Hard to tell if it's real or all just incestuous amplification though. Still, with Burt and Stobart optimistic, it looks promising.

Anyway, while I'm being negative, we still have 52 pages of this thread to fill before Donna Cullen will allow us to announce any signing.

More worrying, is this comment in the above link:

GETA said:
The Paulinho must be a tremendous good people, but the selection has no middle ground. He gives the ball pros and some quarterbacks there ahead that no one thinks the man to arm moves. Tremendous player of naked. Does a golzinho here and there and the guy's ball fills the corintianada. If you are going to England or not, be happy, now let's stop with this mentirada. The guy is a player.

Ah, now that changes everything. If we see that come out, then we're in big trouble. It usually means "there is no deal whatsoever and the player would rather have vaginal reconstruction than join us".

What about "Hold up in the deal, their side messing us about". Which translates as selling chairman looking blankly at Levy as he lays out his payment plan of 207 bi-millennial installments...

But Bill, now we've got Baldini!

I'm going to move my cliff jumping up to the 25th June :)

So the bid has been more or less accepted, but is our chap Paul interested in us? Could be a hurdle....

I'd say its very rare that reports of a fee being agreed
Without the other bits being in place. Can we be gazumped? Of course. However we have a lot of things in our favour e.g Sandro, Avb and that he will play week in and out with the World cup next year.

Will we see exciting samba football again? We need some exciting players on board, and brasilians fits the bill. They also speak portugeese as AVB.

There's a long way to go between 100% done and 100,000% done and we're often left waiting until 10,000,000% done before it's on the OS and we can all relax.

Buckle up and enjoy the ride....
