crouch was awful, Really really poor no threat whatsoever. My ratings

CC - 7 good saves, strange pary away early on from piquenne but made important stops early on, still feel safer with gomes.

Hutton - 7 Some very important defending best player for us i feel besides early on he was poor.

Corluka - 5 won fuck all v tha obina guy though not as bad as thought.

Bassong - 5 Lacking confidence
Bale 6 - different guy at left back these days.
Lennon 5- good run for modrics shot off the bar, thats all
Jenas - 6 Great shot first half, some solid covering, still missing that incisiveness that would mark him out as a midfielder with a cutting edge

Hudd - 5 Too many loose balls and utter shite when through for a clear chance

Modric - 6 Found Green in a purple patch, and Wham defending like Wolves

VDV - 7 Inventive, the most potent goal threat and

Crouch - 5 Worst player with huddleston today, what did he do nothing, his layoffs are pathectic.

Carlo 7 - decent goalkeeping overall

Hutton 5 - nice through ball, urgency in attack, but... terrible defending, predictable movement and decision making (lack of match fitness and some deficient coaching to address probably)

Corluka 6 - was decent actually, but was partly guilty for a goal

Bassong 5.5 - exposed as slow minded couple of times... has good physical attributes but doesn't fill me wtih confidence

Bale 5.5 - we all know boy has some serious ability, but he has to learn a teamplay

Huddlestone 5 - static and predictable

Jenas 5.5 - we are failing to utilize his undeniable ability and talent. with proper guidance he would be twice a player. otherwise he will be average with occassional glimpses of talent as today

Modric 6.5 - tried, hustled, looked, passed, moved as always, but was surronded by static underperformers most of the time

VdV 6.5 - generally same as modric

Lennon 5 - mostly plain bad and predictable

Crouch 5 - uninspired and helpless

subs - not worth mentioning

Oh shit. I voted crouch as mom. Was supposed to pick VDV, by far are most creative player today.

really ?

So tell me what he created ? I cant remember one decent pass the whole time he was on the park, perhaps you can jog my memory.

Crouch was blunt, just further illustrates how badly we lack a top class striker.

We really did drop the ball not moving Pav and or keane on to bring in an upgrade over the summer (we probably should have accepted the losses in terms of fees for these two just to create space to bring someone in)

Sorry but what did Modric do that was better than Jenas?
Was involved, tried some positive moves, many times offered himself with clever runs that, as usual, went unnoticed, had few good touches and kept the ball movng.. nothing sensational from the little man but overall a decent football performance.

Jenas has the ability but just lacks some "electricity" and drive for my taste. He's the type of player who needs to be challenged and pushed all the time to get the best out of him. No wonder Mourinho was interested. He was conservative and unadventureous today IMO.

To be fair I don't think it was hard to be our most creative player. Played some nice passes and had a couple of pretty good shots on goal.

Quite hard to pick a mom really. It was between him and Cudicini I thought.

Cudicini 7 One great save from Noble, and tidy elsewhere.

Hutton 6 Some good runs forward and one great through ball to Lennon (which he muffed) good covering as well

Corluka 6 Outjumped by Piqiuniniininin for the goal but looked solid enough...

Bassong 5.5 a bit too rash on several occasions but probably trying too hard...

Bale 6 Bale is not a great passer, and with most players looking for balls to feet today in front of the defence this was exposed, did OK defensively but looked off the pace when attacking.

Lennon 4 offered nothing really, couldn't even take on a make shift LB in gabbidon...

Jenas 6.5 was one of our best players today, always looking for the ball and moving, but at times not on the same wavelength with the more creative players (modric & VDV)

Modric 7 was at the heart of everything good, coming inside and linking up with VDV et al. and forced a top save from Green.

VDV 6.5 good early threat (when we finally got the ball) but he seemed to lose effectiveness as the game wore on. Not helped by the static Crouch and the unimaginative Lennon just standing there marking the defenders...

Hudd 5.5 Not great today (captain) moved the ball too predictably but the speed of movement from those around him was not there against a west ham content to sit and soak up pressure for long periods.

Crouch 4 about as ineffective game as i have seen him have, did not even offer his customary effort.

Keane 5 not much offered, ran about a bit. a 1-2 with Jenas

Pav 5 'won' a few early free kicks and had a couple of (poor) snap shots.

GDS 4.5 nothing to see here, move along.

'Arry, 5 looked like the best team on paper (with Possibly Lennon dropped) but everything was a bit pedestrian and unimaginative.

it now looks an inspired decision to rest the whole team against the Arse, now we can look back on 2 great london derby defeats...

I thought he kept us in possession, hardly ever lost the ball and spread the play to both wings as well as trying to get in the box and also created a couple of shooting opportunities.

I don't have a problem with his workrate and technique. He always runs and is an adept passer of the ball. He just genuinely lacks will to play more imaginative and is too often predictable and simpleminded. When he's adventureous he goes into other extreme - gets the head down and tries to do everything by himself. That's not the way.

Cudicini was shaky on a few crosses but his general performance was probably his best for us, some really key saves. Didn't deserve to concede today.

Hutton started off a little bit sloppy, but he improved quickly and was brilliant defensively at times, making some very telling interceptions and covering the rest of the defences frequent erring. He also brought the ball out of defence and was the only width we really had today.

Corluka wasn't too shabby actually. He's no centre back, but he filled in well for the most part. Unforunately, I believe it was he who should have been marking the goalscorer.

Bassong was poor positionally, beaten serveral times and really did not have a good day at the office.

Bale wasn't really breched defensively, but he barely contributed going forward. Further evidence that he's going to be a great left back, right?

Lennon made one brilliant run and cross for the unfortunately denied Modric stunner. That aside, his awful form continues.

Huddlestone was passed by in the first half, and while involved in the second half, his passing was poor and he was just plain ineffective and sloppy.

Jenas was neat, he didn't do much wrong or right, barring one lovely interchange with Keane which shamefully had no end product. Not the worst, not the best, just Jenas.

Modric played well for the most part, but did get a little dragged down by the general performance. He and VDV linked nicely a few times and he was so much better than anyone else in our midfield 4 it's untrue.

VDV took a knock, and I hope he's ok. He was the only player who looked at all like he could save us today, but t'wasn't to be.

Crouch offered no goal threat, his hold up play was poor and his touch was not there at all. Stellar.

Keane had one very good chance, and hit it very weakly. Other than that, he was his usual. Lot's of effort, nothing physically to back it up.

Giovani's introduction in place of VDV signalled to me the end of our game. And so it turned out to be. I'm not blaming the kid entirely or the club entirely, but this is just not going to happen, is it?

Pavlyuchenko ran around a fair bit, that's about as much as I can say. He looked more likely than the other two strikers to get a goal, but he still didn't look likely.

Bad day at the office. Bring on Twente.

Without Cudicini the scoreline would have been far more embarrassing. Should have been a 3-0 or 4-0 beating at least. My MOM.

Thats the sad part of it, our keeper is heading for the MOTM against the (former) bottom side in the league, who are/were there because of their general shitness.

Same old Tottenham, different day :-|
