Special mention to the ref tonight. Wanted to give Everton everything and us absolutely nothing.

He was absolutely shocking.

The players we know are good enough genuinely did well. The players we know are shit were shit. It’s always the same every week. I’ve accepted we are going nowhere until the club purge the likes of Winks, Alli, Doherty, Davies, Dier, Sanchez, Moura. The rest can stay next season but I want those lot gone. You might say that’s harsh on Davies but he’s been here ages now and I think it’s time to move him on. Make way for a younger player to play behind Reggie. Sanchez was decent in parts tonight with a block and his goals but we never look solid when he plays, it’s not a coincidence.

Thought son was absolutely brilliant. Sanchez stood out because of the 2 goals, but I actually thought he was our best defender too. Not that it was hard to do so mind.

Anyone is better than D'oherty, and Siss wasnt that bad .... D'oherty cant pass, cant cross, cant defend, cant attack, utterly clueless, Siss maybe what he is but still better than D'oherty

Doherty was OK today. No better or worse than Davies

Think we missed reggy

Another case of missed opportunities and individual errors.

Every player had some decent moments (before Alli, Winks and Sissoko came on)
But too many lapses. when our defense is left to it's own devices there is an air of panic about their work.
Having said that some of the football we played first half was sublime, with only Son and Moura curtailing it. Even Bergjwijn was running with intensity and purpose driving forward and Lamela just popping up everywhere, giving and going, there was actually third man running and players running past the man in possession  it was good to watch, but as we missed chance after chance and they scored practically the first time they crossed half way it became apparent that we were in for one of those nights :(

Individually Lloris lets in two goals from very acute angles and palms an ok shot into the net, did make one good save onto the post from a shot Davies deflected but not good enough.

Moura was a nuisance and occasionally won possession with his incessant harrying but his headless chicken approach and over reliance on dribbling out of trouble was not gelling at all with the football we were playing. points for endeavour as always but very little end product.

Son also seems to struggle with quick passing and one twos, often putting the ball where a man has come from but he is much more effective than Moura so gets a pass, made a difference when he was moved left.

Lamela MOTM just energy, quick purposeful passing and constantly on the move looking for space, really made us tick tonight. great finish and who saw that cracking right foot volley headed off the line that led to Kane's goal

Ndombele was linking us nicely but faded and got a bit dwelly towards the end apparently went off injured, hope he's fit for Saturday.

Not sure Winks and Alli did one positive thing, i so want for Winks to succeed but he just went from bad to worse tonight, sad to watch.
Alli was playing like he did against Marine, without the pub players for company, slow and cumbersome on the ball, thought he had all the time in the world... he didn't.

The subs (barring Kane) were not helpful and playing Vinicius on the left wing before extra time WTF was that about!

Jose still can't find the balance between each defender having a midfield chaperone and the good attacking forward thinking play of today.
When week after week individual errors are the main talking point (even during Poch era) it must be a real head fuck. especially when the errors come from so many different sources.

@Graham Minshall I'd love to hear your opinion...(y)

Mourinho fails to learn, taking Ndombele off disturbs the flow of our game so much it should be banned.

I was happier we played football but it's very clear for us to all see, the quality is distinctively poor...far to many average players, we finished the game with an absolute no no Sissoko and Winks on the pitch at the same time.

Ever thought that you know Ndombele maybe tired or injured? He's not subbing him off for shits and giggles.

Not sure how you can give Sanchez 7 when he let in Richarlson and Bernard in for the last two goals. Plus he was at fault for the second.

No

He scored two crucial goals...

For Richarlison’s 2nd goal, Sanchez was caught ball watching but Doherty and Toby playing him onside when he’s behind Sanchez puts equal blame on them. Especially as they were not marking anyone at the time. That’s poor awareness and communication from the defense as a whole.

Another case of poor communication for Bernard’s goal. Nobody tracks Bernard’s run in the box. Sanchez is marking Richarlison in the middle of the pitch and maintaining the line. Not sure why you are blaming him for Bernards goal...

According to these marks we lost because of the fullbacks and Lucas

This one is solely down to the players both individually and collectively. Three times in the match we had the momentum and we failed to press the advantage
We score after 2 minutes and for 35 minutes dominate the game with 10 shots, 6 on target but fail to add to the opener. We should have scored at least one or more Then in a 6 minute spell defensive mistakes plus a really soft penalty(What’s the point of VAR if they are never going to over rule a ref because it’s not a “clear and obvious error” - what’s the alternative to that a cloudy and subtle error?) put us 3-1 down.
We get us back to 3-3 and we look like the only team that is going to win it but we bizarrely take our foot of the pedal commit another defensive mistake to go behind again.
We equalize before full time and again going into extra time they look spent and we have the momentum only for more defensive mistakes allow them to go ahead again with what proved to be the winner.
Not being clinical enough in front of goal when we had the upper hand and some poor individual defensive mistakes, plus a terrible penalty decision, cost us a game we should have won easily.
Lamela clearly MOM.
Although understandably necessary given our schedule our substitutes, bar Kane, made us much worse. Winks(lost the ball under no real pressure to start the move that lead to their winning goal), Alli(wants too much time on the ball) and Sissoko ( can’t cross or pass) were dreadful.
Loris has to save Richardson’s shot for No 4 and the thought he had to come out and close down Bernard for their winner.

Not sure how lloris gets a higher rating than winks
Lloris didn’t do very well on the first goal
For the richarlison goals and the pen he might have got a touch, other than that did the basics

Winks couldn’t control or pass the ball at all, got himself needlessly booked and then couldn’t make any further tackles.
his confidence to try that volley was about as misplaced as his passes were.

it was a truly horrific performance

Other than pure bias, why does Davies get a lower mark than rest of the back 4?

find it hilarious that some are saying the football was better in a match in which we gave up 5 goals

just lol

A lot of criticism of Dele and I'm not entirely sure why. He's been out a long time as far as match sharpness is concerned and I expected him to take time to get that back.its as if people expected him to just come in and be our match winner, and when he hasn't he was shit.

It was obvious to me his work rate was much improved over all. He was pressing high up the pitch, yet also worked hard getting back and tracking runners.

He wasn't brilliant but was much improved as far as effort is concerned.

More entertaining for sure, I suppose people want us to play like this and not make the defensive errors. Then you can question whether that is possible. xG says it could have been a victory 4 to 1 or 2.

And I think this is part of the problem for those out the team for long periods. It was an absolute hospital pass for Dele last night.
