I'll do some proper ratings later, but I thought Bentaleb was the best of the bunch followed by Dier. Davies and Kane (through anonymity) at the other end of the scale. However across the team I thought we could have been much better without the ball and it continues to be an issue for us.

I believe some are being a bit harsh on Kane with with their ratings. While he has had better games, he hardly got a look in because of lack of service and being man marked by two players

It wasn't Kane's fault he was quiet today. How many balls reached him. Could be counted on one hand.

Lloris 5 thought his distribution was poor.

Dier 7 good deliveries
Fazio 6 only CB defending again
Vertonghen 4.5 poor I'm sorry.
Davies 4 two mistakes two goals

Bentaleb 7.5 controlled the midfield
Mason 6.5 good with Bentaleb

Lamela 6.5 worked hard but wasn't so great tracking back
Eriksen 5 poor passing can do better might need a rest
Chadli 6.5 nice goal good stats but so frustrating

Kane 5 no service.

Lamela 7.5 shades Nabil and Dier both 7. Strong performances from all three. Chadli and Lloris better than average 6.5

Troubling defensive performance overall. Fabio and Verts shaky both 6's and Davies awful for the goals 5. Mason struggling for form 4.5. Kane invisible 4.5. Eriksen bloody horrible 3.5

Not sure why the hell Poch persists on the Bentaleb/Mason partnershio because its just not strong enough to help shield the back 4. Bentaleb was very good today but Mason was very poor. Stambouli or Dembele should have started over Mason. Davies was very poor also. Eriksen hasnt had a good game for quite some time now. Chadli was quiet in bunches but scored. Lamela was very good today. No clue why Poch didnt bring on Yedlin when Davies went down and moved Dier, Fazio and Verts over one. We really needed his pace to stretch the defense which would have given Lamela more space to operate. I pray to god Rose is back next week.

Days like today are exactly why Lloris will leave. Gets no help from his defense, his manager doesnt show any sign of changing his tactics to fix it, or even giving Bentaleb a stronger partner in CM to help shield the defense. And the chairman hasnt shown any material ambition in years. Why would he stay? He might have a connection to England now, but we are a 6th or 7th place team, he's good enough to win the league with. Madrid will go in for De Gea and Lloris will leave for United, sadly. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but its the truth.

How does Chadli get a higher score than Dier?

And why do you always say things are 'the truth', when they're not. And FYI, players can't just 'leave', unless they're out of contract.

I don't think Eriksen deserves a lot of the stick he gets, baring in mind that he plays more or less 90 minutes every game, including EL games when we were there, think the guy needs a break, a week off, let Lamela have a go behind the striker and have Townsend and The Chad wide ( or swap Chad and Lamela)

Kane as well relies a lot on people feeding him the ball and of Eriksen doesn't perform, that normally means Kane struggles, on their day, they are shit hot...

Fazio makes me wince when he plays, even when he is "having a good day" there is always a chance he will do something ridiculous and cost us a goal. It's the Assou-Ekotto Effect all over again...

Lloris will stay. Called it. Make him club captain and potential pay rise next Season because he is the best keeper I've seen at Spurs...

Lloris 7 not at fault for the goal and made more than one good save that were vital to us staying in the game

Dier 7 got up and down the field well, defending well and put some excellent deliveries and through balls in
Fazio 6 was the best CB today but still looked slow and vulnerable at time
Vertonghen 5 disappointed with him, looked suspect
Davies 3 looked like a league one defender, at fault for both goals, has no positional sense, just terrible

Bentaleb 8 MOTM, class act today.
Mason 7 played well, slipped a lot, his ball back for their first goal was costly but overall he was good

Lamela 7 first half he played well. Worked hard all game, good movement, put in his defensive work but when put through his power and pace let him down and its a shame because if he had those he could be world class
Eriksen 5 was very disappointing, never really got in to the game. When he did see the ball he failed to really do anything with it and neglected any defensive duties all game
Chadli 6 Nice run for his goal, his strength to hold on for the chance and finish were both excellent too. He also showed some nice skill and trickery in the box when he almost created a chance. Aside from those two moments he was rather invisible though, didn't do enough to support the players behind him either

Kane 6 unable to get in to the game, no service. Worked hard as and when he could but he was starved of any kind of service on the day

Soldado 5 - Came on with very little time to make an impression, but the one chance he did have to make something happen he completely over hit his pass and wasted a potentially promising attacking position. Surely his days at the club are numbered

Vlad 6- subbed on out of necessity, didn't make any glaring errors which for him is quite refreshing

Dembele 6- nothing much to report on really

Its funny I feel more comfortable seeing Fazio defending than I do Vertonghen...I seem to be the odd one that's thinks Vertonghen is crap.

I agree with you with regards to Fazio. His critics on here seem to be watching for a mistake or bad play by him, instead of looking at his positive contributions which is quite a lot.

I was going to vote Dier but then I remember his terrible first half. The amount of times the ball got fired across our six yard box because of him was unbelieveable. He improved after the break thankfully.

Bentaleb MOTM for me, while not brilliant, he was our best midfielder, put in a shift and kept the ball moving.

Eriksen was anonymous, Chadli was quiet too, Mason was way below par and not up to top 10 standard. Lamela had some neat touches, still some of the decision making needs working on. Kane was well marshalled by Fonte and the other chap (name escapes me) . Vertonghen, Fazio and Davies were shite in places. Not good enough. Lloris was good as usual.

Lloris 7
Dier 6
Fazio 5
Vertonghen 5
Davies 3
Lamela 6
Mason 4
Eriksen 4
Chadli 5
Bentaleb 7
Kane 5

Single handedly stopped a goal against from happening. Again.
All the shit players get 6 from me, all the decent 7.

How can you give high ratings to a guy who barely touched the ball and had one shot though?

Bit of a stalemate. Some good football but slow to break. Unlikely to catch the opposition by surprise.
Did our best to lose it but Southampton happy with a point.

Bentaleb MOM/ Dier............................7+..............................Well played./
LLoris/Fazio/ Mason/Lamela...............7................................Played well
Vertonghen/Chadli/Kane/Eriksen........6................................Played
Davies...................................................5.................................Well!.
