Lloris - 0 we need to look at potentially replacing him now sadly wouldn’t mind us trying to get pau Lopez

Trippier 0 - also provably time for him to go

Sanchez 5 - solid

Toby 5 - solid

Davies 0 - another one that’s just not suited to our system

Dele 2 - just didn’t do anything really just off the pace

Eriksen 3 - off the pace poor with and without the ball

Son 3 - tried but just not as fresh as usual

Winks first half 8 when there was 0 pressure and the game was easy second half 0 soon as wolves put the pressure in he went missing.

Kane 3 - great goal but apart from that he was embarrassing chasing the ref around throwing himself to the floor to win fouls infact it was almost arsenal level of shithousery from him

Moura - the Brazilian Theo Walcott
Sissoko?

Can I give a special round of applause to a horrible home atmosphere even at 1-0 up? I get that fans reflect what’s on the pitch but it’s a two way street and sometimes they need us. We weren’t there today.

We just didn't deal with their movemement and their expand and contract shape morphing which was to be fair excellent. Their off the ball movement was also outstanding as was their energy levels.

Our tiredness definitely contributed. The tired passing and mental awareness was lacking.

At times it looked like they had more players on the field, tactically we were not at the races and this transferred into the players confusion. Which added to the problem. Our boys didn't know what to do.

Anyway will list some positives...

Trippier won a few headers here and there and managed to direct one back to lloris.

Eriksen is finding his defensive positions better playing as a 3 in midfield.

Kane goal was nice.

Tactically we set up badly which was masked in the first half. Much the same how arsenal overran us in their win. If we play 3 in midfield against a 3 at the back team we must put high wide players and keep them disciplined to pin back the wing backs. And stretch the compact element of their shape. Was naive against arsenal and was naive today.

My thoughts..

...at some stage. Absolutely correct.

It's shit getting beat, especially as being so optimistic beforehand.

Worse still, now I feel filthy hoping Liverpool lose.

Wolves fans were immense TBF.

2nd half we were clueless expected something from Poch. Even in the first half it was clear our midfield and full backs were getting dominated. The obvious change would have been bring on Foyth move to a back 3.

Well played Wolves and Nuno, tacrtical domination today. Let's move onto the next game and forget this afternoon's BS. COYS

We lost 3-1 to a team that didn’t even need to look good. We surrendered a lead and comfort by trying to be too clever. We got complacent after dicking two shit teams and got punished. We had 0 real chances, aside from pot-shots.

As I said in the match thread, this was the first game I've been able to watch in real time for about six weeks now. FFS.........

In the end that just turned into a perfect storm of shite. Team looking flat and tired across the park. Individuals having an off day. No ideas or spark in attack. Defensively looking suspect. Tactically there were question marks in my opinion. It was a bit of a disaster all round.

I wasn't impressed with us at 1-0 up, tbh. We had a few long shots that required saves, and Kane eventually smashed one of these home, but it was really flat and lacking in ideas and I felt we struggled against a Wolves team who defended largely in a 5-4-1 shape and condensed the centre of the pitch. We really struggled to make headway and create decent moments and passages of play, and I don't think our tactics and continued use of the narrow 4-3-1-2/4-3-2-1 helped today.

The main change in the second half was that Wolves came out with a bit more belief, whilst in contrast we just slipped further and further off the pace. We barely had a sniff, had no control on the game, and forced on to the back foot until eventually we had what probably constitutes a collapse. After the first half where their defensive shape stifled us, it switched as I felt we struggled to contain their shape/wingbacks when we defended as they kept switching the play and creating overloads in certain areas of the pitch, and so led to lengthy spells where they strung possession together.

I thought all three goals were disappointing. That's another set piece goal against where you are left scratching your head at what we are doing, their big centre back is unmarked and gets a free run at the ball to power it home. I just don't understand...... The second and third goals we have enough men back, but just no one getting close and being cut through with ease.

And I have to say, that I think Poch has had a bad day at the office in this game. He's done a really good job so far this season on the whole, having to deal with patched up sides and nursing/rotating the players whilst still digging out results and finding effective ways to play and win, but not today. As I have mentioned, Wolves shape seemed to cause us problems both when we had the ball and then when we had to defend, but I saw very little in way of attempts to combat this. Another weak set pieces goal has gone against us. And lets once again talk about the subs bench - GK, three defenders, a sitting midfielder, and two erratic wide players. That just isn't balanced, injuries or not. It reminds me of the Watford defeat, where we were discussing the same thing, a poorly selected bench with nothing to bring on to change it. There seemed to be fatigue on the sidelines as well as out on the pitch, because nothing changed and we just crawled towards defeat.

I also think we need to tighten up defensively. Some of these good wins we've still really rode our luck and we're giving up too much ball, territory, and chances compared to recent years. Eventually you will get blips like today when you're not at your best with the ball, are facing a plucky opposition, and are then relying on other aspects of the game. There is room for improvement.

A big setback and disappointing display, they've got to dust themselves down and put another run of results together......

Lloris - A little disappointed with him on all three goals tbh. When you were hoping for a sharp save or for him to stand big and make the block it didn't happen. Ball bundled past him on three occasions.

Trippier - Flat. Didn't offer much in the first half, the second he aided Wolves on more than one occasion.

Sanchez - Ok.

Alderweireld - Ok.

Davies - Meh.

Sissoko - A game too far for him today. Went back to his pointless wide-holding midfielder role posing zero problems for the opposition. Some poor defensive positioning today, not for the first game.

Winks - Also a game too far. Thought he was really flat throughout with his use of the ball and this was the third or fourth game in a row where I think his defensive positioning hasn't been good enough. I don't expect him to be putting in expert level performances in this aspect but some of the things he does are really weak and/or silly.

Eriksen - Started fairly well, played some lovely passes. The booking changed things as he seemed scared to do any defensive work, and in the second half he tired and started coughing up the ball and had less impact. I'd have probably subbed him off in all truth.

Son - Ok in minor flashes, but pretty anonymous and/or wasteful. Not sure why we continued to play him centrally against the Wolves swarm.

Alli - Piss poor from the off. Didn't look ready for this game at all to my eyes. Too slow on the ball mainly and some poor touches at times.

Kane - Good goal, reasonable first half, did fuck all in the second.

Subs Sub:

Moura - Did nothing. Why was he played through the centre?

Just got back from Wembley, players looked nackered Poch should've used Everton and Bournemouth to bring on subs earlier.

Lloris 6 average didn't make any saves really

Trips 5 poor defensively as always and offered less than KWP going forward
Sanchez 7 good covering tackles
Toby 7
Davies 5 too slow, offers nothing going forward. Should be a CB

Winks 6 did little to drive us forward despite working hard
Sissoko 7 worked hard and covered well for our full backs

Eriksen 6 didn't create, had a great shot saved though
Son 6 bit off an off game
Alli 5 well off the pace, offered nothing

Kane 8 MOTM head the ball up so well and scored a great goal

Subs
Where were they? Use them Poch!
Lucas 5 no impact

Poch 5

Its one of those performance where no one individual is culpable, we were basically shit throughout. We should be going out showing our intent and rise to the occasion - we did the opposite and become 90s spurs.

Such a shame and i suspect we were a little tired...

Hate seeing fatigue or lack of rotational options being blamed. Liverpool have made one change and are flying and absolutely battering arsenal right now.
