I hope that's a joke?

ageing football fans holding onto season tickets is a problem.

Isnt that ultimately the crux of the 'too expensive' argument too that younger fans in teens and twenties are being priced out? Thats why Spurs did away with the old membership points system as younger/newer fans couldnt compete with guys with 100s of points accumulated over years and years.

No one wants to hear it, but it is what it is.

Saw a report the other day, about a thousand English fans go to Dortmund for every home game, probably not the same ones but one guy from Dover went to Dortmund game and it cost him less than going to the arsenal.
Another thing apparently for fans with a match ticket all public transport in the home city is free, that'd save a bit on the oyster card:)

Don't do that...

Rubbish, I have had mine for years and hope to have it for a lot more.

This was my first year as a ST holder and, tbh, i'm not getting one next year. I think the support in the Park Lane and the Shelf is ok. The rest of the ground just seem to moan constantly.

The away support is always much better and it is a much better experience. Next season I'm just going to go to as many away games as possible. If I was a player, I'd prefer to play away from home.

Notwithstanding the above, I can't believe what I witnessed at the end of the match at Villa Park on Sunday. Everybody had congregated at the front of the stand and the first player over to applaud the fans was Danny Rose. As he was walking over, some chavy Stone Island wearing knob started shouting as loud as he could "Fuck off Rose You're a wanker. Fuck off you **** don't come over here" etc etc. He was giving it all of the hand signals and had a real hatred in his tone. Rose by this time was about 2 meters away and could clearly hear him. He looked directly at him, didn't walk any further and just walked back to the dressing room.

I can't get my head around how, in that situation, somebody would want to behave like that towards another human being let alone somebody who plays for a team that you are supposed to support and who had just won in the 90th minute. It is one thing to get frustrated and start moaning that a player is crap etc from the back of the stands, when they will never hear it. However, to do it directly to a players face after the game is finished any you are standing just a few feet from them is just nuts. Danny looked genuinely upset to me and I can't imagine what that would do to a young lads confidence.

I've got 100s of points. Villa was my 15th game this season .... 48 last season. I've had my season ticket for 25 seasons and been going for 43.

You telling me to give my season ticket up? Give me a good reason why I should. Did you see the 15,000 empty seats for the Asteras game ?

He should be banned from going to any further games. We don't need "fans" like that. It doesn't help anyone.

Not really a revelation that the atmosphere has been shit at WHL for at least the last couple of seasons. However I have always enjoyed going away but really starting to lose the faith after the Villa game.

Yes, we went mental after the second goal but for the first 80 minutes it was jeers everytime someone was on the ball, groans at every unsuccessful pass and Levy out songs (as if it was his fault, personally, that our strikers can't score and defenders can't defend) and general shitness. To cap it off, at least two ****s shouted "Yid Army" during the minutes silence.

I despair.

[QUOTE="we_all_loved_freund, post: 4314233, member: 7839o, didn't recognise him. Green Chav Island top and baby Blue T-shirt underneath with the collar turned up, I think. Must have been sitting in block Q3.[/QUOTE]
Probably the same brain dead prick who shouted Yid Army during the minutes silence.
There couldn't have been 3 total idiots like that at an away game surely?
Fans (people) like that should be shot. Knuckle dragging twats.

Been going to WHL regularly since 1989 and apart from a couple of seasons, the atmosphere has always been "quiet". This seems to have been the fall out following the removal of the shelf in the east stand.
Was also at the Villa game in lower tier and couldn't believe the abuse handed out to individual players during and after the game - like it's going to help them improve........!!??

Its a bit of a catch 22 but, if our home support didn't have to endure such turgid shit every other weekend I'm sure the place would be a lot louder

Been like this since Harry was in charge in fact it changed the season after we got into the CL, so I don't think it has much to do with the football being played.
