Getting on their backs when they're on the backfoot really isn't helpful is it? Especially when it's first half and there's so much time left to get something. Players and fans have to work together. Players get the crowd up by doing something, but then the crowd have to support the team and make it a hostile atmosphere for the opposition. The audible groans and frustration tell the away side it'll be an easy ride for 90 minutes. The crowd does turn quickly and it really doesn't help, but sitting watching your team petrified on the edge of our box doesn't help either! Then when we do get the ball we can't keep it!
The team should give the crowd something to shout about, a tackle, a bit of skill, some closing down, then the crowd will lift them when it gets a bit tough!
I'm always seen some say that if you don't sing you're a terrible match going fan. Well if you're not singing and you're instead moaning for 90 minutes then that's surely worse?
