Personally, I would still bench Sonny. Use that last game as a platform for him to build from. Save him for the last 30 mins of the game.
Agreed. Danjuma looks much better at close control and holding the ball up.

Winning this could be the confidence boost to a good run for top 4…Got a funny feeling we gonna do this

As much as I think Hojbjerg needs a rest, there is no way he's not starting this game. Bissouma still haven't convinced me he's at his best to start. The rest I agree and the lineup basically pick themselves.
Probably right..though I’d like to see Bentacur and Sarr start

No way we drop sonny after this Last performance. That would be silly and terrible for his confidence.

However if after 60 mins he or Kulu aren’t pulling up any trees then on come Richy and Danjuma, not after 70,80 mins.

Still a bit unsure about Son and his goals at Preston will probably buy him more starts like the ones against Leicester possibly did. Needs to be consistency to his better performances now.
There's a reason Son has a history of torturing Man City and it has little to do with form. It has little to do with whatever formation or personnel Spurs choose generally.

Man City play an exceptionally high line and they rely on their goalkeeper's mobility - and their ability to keep the ball - to prevent speedy players who can shoot from getting behind the line and having a free run at Ederson. Son at full pace is going to beat that tactic again and again in most games. Man City's way of dealing with him in the past has been to ignore him and play their game. If he gets a goal, they'll get three. It hasn't worked very at the THS.

Amidst all the verbiage about Son's loss of form this season, what I haven't heard much about is that he's been a step short of pace all season - since his facial injury. I'm not sure why, but it's been obvious to me in all games. It's not just that he isn't getting away from defenders to get his shots off, it has affected his dribbling and passing at least as badly. He's accustomed to being half a metre further away from pressure and now he has a defender permanently hanging off him, impeding his progress and causing him to lose the ball.

It might be psychological - hesitancy in the aftermath of the injury - or it might be fitness - a long gap in his ability to train fully. I can't tell - it's probably both. But it has affected his entire game.

Spurs are missing about 10 goals that he would have scored in a normal season. That's the difference between 5th and 3rd all by itself, but it also would have prevented the run of 10 games conceding the first goal, by dint of having a goal threat even when the opposition starts by pressing furiously for 20 minutes.

We need Son to get his pace back. The rest will follow - he will start scoring goals.

good points - he’s said the facial injury has affected his vision with the mask and receiving the ball- might affect his balance and general readiness and concentration.

Also I think back to that preseason friendly when they made him run until he was sick and could barely move in front of his home fans. Not sure that was a great start to the season…

For me - this is one of those rare instances where there are no bad outcomes.

If we win - "Amazing 3 points!"

If we draw = "Decent result, that. Something to build on!"

If we lose = "We were always expected to lose this one, at least City kept pace with Arsenal!"

Either win or lose for me. A draw doesn’t really help us or city, it just helps Arsenal

So after that Dyche masterclass I’ve changed my team selection to:

Winks (re-called from loan to go in goal)

Ndombele (re-called from loan to walk about in the centre circle for a few mins)

That’s as far as I got, a 2 a side team should do the trick for a 20-0 loss to help city’s goal difference ??

Then we focus all our efforts on just simply doing the FA Cup & CL Cup Double

?

A draw gets us a point which could be the difference between top 4 or not. A loss gets us 0 points. Focus on us not Arsenal. I really dont understand this logic.

We ain’t winning the CL anytime soon so I’d rather come 5th win the FA Cup and give the 3pts to City if it means them lot down the road don’t win the league. Top 4 isn’t a trophy, might even be good if we are out of it next season as when Conte won the league with Chelsea they had no CL footy ? win win all round

Porro scores the winner tomorrow from a free kick celebrates rushing towards the Spurs bench when Lucas hands him over Son’s old mask, Porro puts it on and there you go: the Mask of Porro!

I guess I’m just burnt out by this repetitive ‘we have to get top 4’ idea. We’ve shown that it doesn’t really matter where we finish, we’ll show the same minimal ambition in the transfer market. So if Spurs aren’t going to win the league, I want to make sure arsenal don’t too. Just my opinion but I respect yours.

Yea I feel pretty similar tbh.

I just really hope we can win this FA cup this season, I think top 4 is beyond us and not really overly fussed either way, pros and cons of not being or being in CL.
