We’ve been through so much, don’t care if I come across as deluded but I feel this is our year in the FA Cup and I’d even put a punt on us putting on a run in the CL. Top 4, no top four not too bothered: I’d rather remove this FA Cup hoodoo and win the darn thing. You know what I will admit I would cry with relief and happiness if we do win it. Might be sad but the FA cup means so much: so jealous when Leicester won it a few years back.

Yea I feel pretty similar tbh.

I just really hope we can win this FA cup this season, I think top 4 is beyond us and not really overly fussed either way, pros and cons of not being or being in CL.
Don’t understand much of this. No result tomorrow takes us further away or closer to an FA cup trophy.

Not fussed about CL? Does that mean you are indifferent to the tie against Milan coming up? Doesn’t make a difference to you if it’s back to Zagreb typ games in Europa League next season?

I want us to win every game and couldn't give a flying fuck what Arsenal do.
If you're wanting us to lose because it helps keep City closer to that lot, well, you're an idiot!

Come on City! Let's throw this fucker!
The fuck is wrong with our fans nowadays?!
I keep seeing this sort of shite in match threads, so-called fans wanting us to lose because of that lot down the road.
I really don't understand that way of thinking, I want us to win every bloody game, no matter how that affects any other team.
Arsenal are still capable of choking this season, so every point still matters.

i don't know about you but a win tomorrow isn't going to be much of a comfort come the end of the season if arsenal are lifting a premier league trophy, especially if the margin in which they win it by is the result of this game.

Call me optimistic but this is a win/win game for us, in different ways.

If we win the game, we enjoy three points and it puts us a point behind the Toon.
If we lose, City gain ground on the Woolwich.

The only thing we want to avoid is a draw, it does nobody any good at all, so I vote we employ the "score one more than you" tactic and just go for it, every touch inside the final third, have a shot, why not.

If our squad is strong and deep enough to cope with CL & PL then fine otherwise it could be interesting being back in EL under Conte as it could mean we could challenge for both rather than neither.

There's a reason Son has a history of torturing Man City and it has little to do with form. It has little to do with whatever formation or personnel Spurs choose generally.

Man City play an exceptionally high line and they rely on their goalkeeper's mobility - and their ability to keep the ball - to prevent speedy players who can shoot from getting behind the line and having a free run at Ederson. Son at full pace is going to beat that tactic again and again in most games. Man City's way of dealing with him in the past has been to ignore him and play their game. If he gets a goal, they'll get three. It hasn't worked very at the THS.

Amidst all the verbiage about Son's loss of form this season, what I haven't heard much about is that he's been a step short of pace all season - since his facial injury. I'm not sure why, but it's been obvious to me in all games. It's not just that he isn't getting away from defenders to get his shots off, it has affected his dribbling and passing at least as badly. He's accustomed to being half a metre further away from pressure and now he has a defender permanently hanging off him, impeding his progress and causing him to lose the ball.

It might be psychological - hesitancy in the aftermath of the injury - or it might be fitness - a long gap in his ability to train fully. I can't tell - it's probably both. But it has affected his entire game.

Spurs are missing about 10 goals that he would have scored in a normal season. That's the difference between 5th and 3rd all by itself, but it also would have prevented the run of 10 games conceding the first goal, by dint of having a goal threat even when the opposition starts by pressing furiously for 20 minutes.

We need Son to get his pace back. The rest will follow - he will start scoring goals.

Yeah it's a strange one really as although I've also noticed he seems to have lost a bit of pace, his touch and control of the football have been so poor at times that I've overlooked it. He can just so often look like he has the ball stuck under his feet and he just doesn't look like a clean dribbler of the ball at the moment.
I would love to see games side by side from the 2nd half of last season to see how differently we're playing because this season it feels like we're playing so slow that when we do have the ball, any space is behind is plugged up by the time we slowly pass it along our defenders and midfielders. You are right in that City are different in the high line they play. Funnily enough the two teams that Son will probably have the most joy against in the league are probably City and Liverpool.

As much as I still think there's a question mark surrounding him, tomorrow would not be the game to drop him. The great thing is that we have decent options to replace him if he does struggle again.

Anything could happen between now and the end of the season.

Small time mentality worrying more about Arsenal than wanting us to do as well as we can.

I honestly couldn't care if they win the league this season, they've done it before and they'll do it again.
It's not solely down to us to stop them.

The three points we (may) get tomorrow, could be the difference between CL or Europa, not to mention the confidence it will give the team towards the business end of the season.

The only thing I want is for us to win, every game that we play.
I'm not going to stress about the permutations for Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, or any other of our "rivals".

I don't understand why so many on here get so hung up about what Arsenal are doing.

Think you guys are overthinking it with sonny, he was just a bit off from start of season and then he couldn’t play properly because of the mask.

He’ll be back to the sonny we know and love soon.

I personally didn't see the greatest of differences from before the mask and with it so I just think he's been below his usual standard throughout both periods. The Son we're seeing now is no different to the Son we see for a few months/weeks every season, it's just lasting a bit longer this time.
