Very sad to see him go. Whatever you can say about his footballing abilities, he gave every ounce of them, down to the last drop, in every game. If every Spurs player gave what Steed did in every game... well, we'd find less to fault them for, I believe.

Bon chance, Steed. Adieu, notres ami.

STEED.....WELL DONE and THANK YOU for your sterling assistance over the past few years....I wish you continued success at Sunderland (bar around 2 games during the year when you will be hunted until you drop....but always remembered)

He has been a very good player for us and worth more than four million. There are other players I'd get rid of ahead of him. The good thing is that we are bringing in players with better quality.

He was shit for us before last season, but during last season, he improved considerably and he was IMO our player of the season.

All the best Steed.

Of all the departures so far he is the only one I am sad to see go, he is the type of player that always gives his all, I too would have liked him to stay, a player like him on the bench is a great benefit, but players like him, imo, deserve to be playing regular football, which I think we can not offer him, So all in all, it is the best for him, a loss to us, though a minor one..Good luck steed

Steed is the one player who we have sold recently who I would have preferred to keep. He has been a model professional for us and I always felt he was full-on from the kick off. This inevitably led him to often be replaced after 65 / 70 minutes because he was knackered. We certainly got our monies worth from him. He did not turn out to be the player I thought he would....he was better....he worked harder, was willing to do whatever job asked of him and unlike three of the other four leaving displayed little ego. Good luck Steed. I reckon you will be a legend with those northerners (if you can stand the cold).

Yep - like most sad to see Steed go - au revoir, bon voyage et bonne chance -

I assume the fee offered to us was deemed too good to turn down for the club - while the wages are much better doubtless considering how cheap it is to live oop there -

2/6 for a pint of woodbines and a cobbled house etc

Also, presumably looking at our influx of mids - Steed thought mmm - won't be playing much this season or next

Very sad to see such a dedicated and good player leave the club. I am unsure as to the exact reason for his departure and only hope that the compensation sufficiently represents his worth to the club.

Thanks for everything Steed. I will miss your committed displays in a Spurs jersey.
