Arsenal have bid £22m for holding midfielder Yann M'Villa according to the Guardian. If correct either that means Wenger has a different player in mind or he is in the market for a def mid and may well see Diarra as a cheaper option that he can trust.

this place is more volatile than a 3 tonne barrel of plutonium. As soon as there is a whiff of negative ITK, the vultures are released to start swooping round "little daniel levy's" office. Yes, i agree its frustrating that we seem to be leaving it late, but if the deals take that long to get into our budget then thats what we have to do. When will people realise that we CANT compete with city or chelsea when it comes to signing people, and agents are always going to hold out to see if they can entice these clubs in to make a few extra million. Yes, levy has his faults, but without doubt he has the best interests of the club at heart. why wouldnt he?

And all those people going on about how liverpool are spending money left rights and centre. Lets just see what happens if they dont qualify for the CL.

Peanut on COYS re Brian Ruiz:
Our interest is very minor, doubt we will go for him as Harry doesn't want him.

Sounds to me like his agent, knowing Arsenal are flush with cash, is floating this rumour to get a better deal off Levy? Honestly, people on here are worrying far too much, Wenger never goes back for players who have left Arsena, just not his style.

Lehman as well as Sol. But I don't think he'd go there anyway. As mentioned, Song and Frimpong already there, no need for Diarra. This ITK doesn't worry me.

Yet.

That article is over 2 years old and footballers change their hearts and minds a lot more often than that. A week is a long time in football (perhaps something that Levy hasn't quite grasped).

I always had a fear that the longer the "signing" of Diarra went on that Arsenal in particular would come in and nab him. He is ideally suited for them and now they have money to burn.

I hope that the deal we had agreed was indeed "100% done" else i can see this latest information being true. If it is then it should be a severe lesson learnt to wrap deals up quickly and would serve us right in many ways.

It also raises the question of how much good leaked transfer info does to a club. Whilst we all love ITK, all we then do is put potential transfers into the public domain (yes journos and media monitor fan forums).

The fact that his relationship with Mourinho isn't the best suggest he may now feel that Wenger was better all along. At least Wenger gave him a shirt number

I'm aware that players continually contradict themselves but whinger's a pretty stubborn fella...I was just posting it as additional info for people to read. I think some of us on here are reacting too quickly to this one.

The return of the salted one. You would think he would have made his grand entrance with information on Diarra and Adebayor. oh well

Im hoping this last piece of ITK is rubbish, but to be honest i wouldnt be suprised if it was true.

I think being here today would be detrimental to my health, so for that reason, im out.

Ladbrokes website (yes I know the source doesn't sound great) are reporting that Spurs have agreed to a £8m deal for Diarra but Real are holding up the transfer by trying to put in a few add-ons for success or percentage of sell on clauses, since they value him closer to £15m.

According to the same article, Adebayor is waiting on us signing Diarra as a sign of our ambition. Looks like he fully expects to sign permanently and he wants to know the club will be challenging.

The source may not be great but that sounds very feasible.

Regarding Iago, he is a young creative midfielder/wide player. He is a bit like Krancjar but with a bit more pace. But definitely not ready to make an impact this season.

With only a week left I'm seriously worried now that this window is going to go down as another bungle.

This season is depressing me so far.

I know wages have been discussed again and again, and some say we can't afford the higher wages. But I am really worried we are getting left behind now. Players are just balking because they know they can pick up big bucks in a lot of other clubs. I think we need to swallow the money a bit, at least in the short term on one or two deals. Otherwise I think it's going to dismantle the progress we made over the last couple seasons and we'll end up another CL one hit wonder.

I wouldn't be surprised though if the latest Diarr rumour doesn't materialise, purely because I didn't think Arsenal could page mega bucks either. I guess time will tell.

Interesting that POTL has been very quiet these past few days.

If I remember rightly BEN did also say we were closing in on Llorente so its not outside the realms of possibility that he is wrong about Diarra aswell.

This area of the site should really come with a health warning. All this done / not done / medical / no medical stuff is giving me high blood pressure.

Stupid ITK addiction.

So if Diarra falls through Adebayor falls through, can't imagine that would leave us in a great position with 6 days left.

So, can someone sum up where we are at this very minute? Are we gonna fucking sign someone today or not?

Adebayor? Still on? Did he actually have a medical?
Diarra? What's happening there?

"Mystery midfielder" - who the fuck's that?!

What's happening?

I think they can pay higher wages than us partly due to their higher gate receipts. I'm sure they were talking about putting Fabregas on close to 150k at some point.

As far as the ITK is concerned Adebayor had his medical yesterday so should be done. There isn't any rush to announce him though as he wouldnt' be able to play at the weekend anyway.

Diarra? Who knows.

And as for Archibald's mystery midfielder...that's all very odd and I worry that it might be Joe Cole.

Wenger clearly didn't rate Diarra for some reason or another....maybe he was quick enough for him or some bollocks. But I can't see them coming back for a player they sold and in doing so knocking Frimpong out of the side.

Let's just try to be patient fellas.
