What is there to get some want him and some dont why have all those that favour him got ram it down Our throats because We dont agree.
Everyone has a different opinion but The same objective to See us actually achieve something so just let people be.
There's being in favour of someone and then there's taking it to such an extreme that you become blind to reason.

Pochettino out !!! This is almost as insane as when we hired Avb. It was obvious it would fail then and it is obvious now. He hasn't scored any higher than 20% in any fans poll, he hasn't achieved absolutely zero with every team he has been with and no other managerless team in the country has even considered him for their job yet somehow, despite his previous record it seem Daniel Levy knows better than everybody else with this bloke.
Then there is the smattering of fans on this forum who actually think 'its exciting times'. Jesus Christ this is utter utter madness. This is another golden opportunity to hire the right man and another opportunity we are going to mess up. I hope all you Poch fans will come back on this thread in a year when we are looking for our next manager. So well done everybody, another disaster of a year on the way then..............

AVB was playing dire football at Chelsea and was destroying them slowly but surely. I was hoping he wouldn't get sacked but he did. I was amazed he got the job with us. But you can't say the same with Poch. Southampton are playing good football and he has improved them slightly since Adkins. I can't say it's obvious he will fail the same as the pro Poch's can't say it's going to be a success either.

No one knows. It's another gamble. I hope he becomes our Wenger rather than another AVB.

Out of interest where do people think Ancelotti, Benitez, FdB would have finished with that Southampton squad? certainly not top four imo.

If you go on to the FdB or Benitez threads, you'll find people being equally supportive of their man.

When it comes to abuse, however, it seems that Pochettino is the one taking most of the hits - much of it misinformed or just plain ignorant. Which is probably why some of his supporters get a bit defensive.

Potch is the latest 'in' manager. Of course we will go for him that's what we do.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong but I do not believe Potch or even FdB are the answer to our problems. They may well paper over the cracks with a good start, but it will surely end the same as the last manager we hired who was the hottest thing since Mourinho ran up the old Trafford touch line.

So with Poch coming in, the three left footed spanish speaking playmakers may get a chance to shine ( Lamela, Falque, Ceballos).

Show me the posts of vitriol aimed towards FDB.

I would imagine there has been objection to him as well and I say the same again but incidentally why has there been so much hostility towards him.
And by the way i have not been hostile he isnt My cup of Tea.

I'd prefer Klopp, Ancelotti, Simeone like most people but there is no way in hell we can get them. Benitez wont miss out on CL. Poch seems as good a candidate as any along with FDB - we aren't spoiled for choice.

I take your point but as you know We have had several discussions from time to time and I cant recall trashing the bloke and yes i am in The camp of not interested in him as I think We Can do better.
But I dont just want a New candidate based on playing good football it has to be allied to winning football too but some on here only want him because of that which is pointless if we get dragged into mid table but its all ok cos the football is exciting do you see My point.

Nope, but Ancelotti and Benitez would not have lost to us twice and especially when going 2 - 0 up at the Lane.

I agree there is the odd post that is over the top (see above), but there are plenty of constructive, well thought out posts voicing genuine concerns about poch which have been dismissed and sometimes ridiculed by certain posters.

We know this next appointment is crucial for the future of the club and so it is only fair to have a debate on the pros and cons of each candidate in a reasoned manner.

I'm not sure I agree with that. I've seen plenty of level-headed discussions on Benitez and De Boer, with the pros and cons carefully balanced and acknowledged. However, with Pochettino it seems that a lot of fanboys have exaggerated his achievements, and throw their toys out of their prams whenever someone points out the reasons why not everybody is as excited or as optimistic as them.
