I think that does a disservice to a number of others primarily Wanyama, Lamela and the full backs. Regardless though the fitness levels will come in time, several of our players are still working their ways back from being at the Euros.

Exactly.... We are only going to improve and while we get back up to our full levels I'm very happy to pick up points.

Think we did well today. Win deserved.

Just back from the match. My views, Eriksen seriously needs to look at himself. He was embarrassingly poor. Wanyama seriously good player, and bossed midfield, breaking up play and distribution was on point. Janssen, aside that he should of scored, really impressed me. Note, I was against us signing him.

I know this probably won't be a popular opinion but I really don't like it when we start with two strikers. We give up our possession and the game becomes so scrappy.

Surely having two defensive midfielders, with no one that has pass and vision in the middle is a bigger issue than that there's two forwards in the side?

Good result, never want to hear about the game again, I think next weeks 11 picks itself where two holding midfielders will suit us significantly more.
I think we have to go for it , if we try to sit back and contain liverpool asking for trouble

I'm pretty happy with the idea of going for it but using the fullbacks to provide the attack, with Wanyama and Dier sitting for the counter. Well I'm gonna have to be as I'm pretty adamant that's what it'll be.

Personally I'd like to see us go 4-5-1 with Alli next to Dier and Kane @ 10 and when we attack basically be 3-5-2 with dier sitting in to prevent the counter and Kane pushing up so he's in his usual positions.

Wins a win! Wasn't the best performance. Eriksen was poor he is so inconsistent its really holding him back from being a top player. Thought Kane was pretty average as well today. Some time on the bench might do them both some good. Jansen was impressive especially his work rate. Shame he didn't score that chance in the 2nd half.

We need to ratchet up the intensity against liverpool. I don't want to see us settling for the tempo of the last two games. Need to wind it up.
Need Kane and Janssen to pressure their CBs and keeper, who are crap with the ball, and we'll turn them over.

On current form Eriksens contract should be halfed not doubled! Once again shocking!

He always seems to be awful at the start of the season. I remember Poch taking him off at half time in a couple of games in his first season. Should have done so again today.

Only just seen the Liverpool result.

:woot:

What makes it more satisfying is I went on RAWK yesterday and was viewing a conversation between a United fan and Liverpool fan and the Liverpool fan was talking as if they were going to be competing for the league because they were sitting in second under United.

The arrogance of Liverpool supporters never surprises me.

Just got home from the game today and I liked the look of our new signings. Poch is right, wanyama is a beast and janssen did well saying he was being fouled all game by their centrebacks until one of them was booked.

Should have been 3 or 4 nil really.

And one more thing, Michael Oliver isn't a great ref. Never seems to give us the rub of the green.

Maybe thats how it seems live, but I thought he had a decent game all in all. He made mistakes, but they seemed to be a pretty even distribution.

Did Kane and Janssen play as traditional forwards or did Kane play a deeper role?
