Certainly would, losing to MK Dons was difficult but he achieved it.

Sounds like he has already started making excuses. Transfer spend 400% more than ours, with wages 350% higher than our highest but with an expectation of getting 4th same as us - yeah sure your role at ManUre is much harder.

The expectations will be to win the league and eventually champions league - not this season, but within the three years of his contract. That is a tough gig whichever way look at it

He talks like a twat but I think the point is right. Spurs is a less demanding gig than Utd as we're not expected to win anything. Utd, despite last season, are one of the biggest clubs in the world and 7th is seen as catastrophic, not 'could do better'

This guy disrespects us every time he talks about us and what's this about being easy at Spurs? how many managers have we sacked over the years. He has an endless supply of money to buy Manu out of trouble - that's how easy his job is.
I think we were lucky not to get him in the end. He deserves a good caning when we next play them

I love the way these managers who people elevate to god-like status are always so full of excuses

Van Gaal is fully living up to my expectations of him. I have high hopes of him wrecking Manchester United for a generation.

Heres a thought. If ManUre do not get into the Champions League this season, is there a danger of them falling on bad times due to the lack of money coming in? Like Leeds but obviously not as drastic.

It will obviously hurt them financially but that new 10 year 750 mill sponsorship would soften the blow abit.

We were lucky LVG went to Man Utd. As others, I was saying on another spurs site... LVG would be good for us. Now seeing what is happening 160 miles up the M6 glad we dodged him. COYS & MP.

Not Leeds, more like Manchester United from the 70's and 80's

haha

He's done a fucking great job at rebuilding ManUre, no team balance and paid a fortune for a few prima donnas.

Imagine how well he would have got on with Dan the Man in the TW.

We have brought in twelve players in two seasons. LVG has had two months in the job, so just how long will you give Poch to rebuild Spurs?

I guess that you would turn your nose up at Di Maria? and keep Chadli?

Not sure hes really disrepsecting us - just stating a fact that they are a bigger club than us and the pressure will be greater there. Some fans are too sensitive.
Having said that I do find him a grotesque figure with that face pumped full of botox on top of a turkey like neck!. He is bound to have some real rucks with other managers and the press over the next few months so it should be entertaining.

What's his fixation with talking about Spurs?

I tell ya, I'd love it, just love it if we beat 'em.

I'll never forget the team he built at Ajax during the early 90's, going on to win the Champions League too. Absolutely enthralling, spectacular football. However times have changed and I am definitely glad we have Mauricio as our manager rather than Louis, as I'm sure within a few days of being here he and our bean counter would have been at each others throats

I don't know what people are getting mad about, I don't see anything there to dispute.

In a twisted kind of way, I think he's admitting that we have a better squad than his, while fearing for his job security with the Ajax comment.

Still, it was a very inappropriate thing to say. Very Sherwoodian.

Agree. I also like the way these 'great coaches' only ever take on the jobs where they have hundreds of millions to buy themselves out of trouble. (RM, Barca, Utd, Chelsea, City). Taking on a team of Spurs size, we are a very big club, lack success, have the ingredients their to potentially do well but don't have a bottomless pit of money. Now that would test just how good a coach you are.

Glad he turned us down, never liked 3 at the back, never will. Plus the way he mentions his 'philosophy' 3 or 4 times every interview is proper cringe.
