Seems strange they have been left a free run at this.. wonder why. His stock has fallen a bit since his first season at Bayern but still 23 and a coup for a club like Stoke. Strange.

Fair play if stoke land him, quite a coup for them

Is it real a coup? He dilthered and waited before signing the contract for another bigger club to come in for him, no one did and u wants out of Inter.

Don't think Stoke fans are unrealistic enough to think this isn't a stepping stone, but if he comes in and performs well, he'll get a big money move and its a win win..hopefully push them further up the league, good cup run? possibly Europe next season. he might even stay (or he could be rubbish!)

I'm starting to like Stoke....... Urgh I feel dirty just saying it. Their fans are still collosal twats but they are showing ambition and thats good to see. I like that Stoke, Swansea and Southampton have effectively jumped over Newcastle, Villa and Everton

Every club tries to improve their team but where is the self ride in signing a player who has already turned you down and no one else wants ?

But regardless he is an improvement on their current options therefore they are showing ambition, don't understand your way of thinking?

It is a strange one! Is Njie as good a player as Shaqiri? Is he as good a player as Payet? We seem to be letting a lot of good footballers move to 'lesser' teams while we have absolutely no flair in our attack. Trust in the manager and the scouting team I guess. I personally would be a hell of a lot happier though if we had signed Cabeye and Shaqiri than some of the options we are looking at though.

Thing is, the package doesn't only include flair and ability, but commitment and comraderie etc. I can't see Shakiri doing more than a season at Stoke if he does sign, and of course, as others have alluded to, Stoke wouldn't be his first port of call without good reason.
