Xherdan Shaqiri - SIGNS FOR STOKE

I've got a feeling he's injury prone, hence the relatively free run at him Stoke have had. Same with Affellay.

If they can keep both fit they'll have a decent attack though - Diouf, Bojan, Walters, Shaqiri and Affellay isn't too shabby.

People ... Inter fans are disgusted with his egoistic attitude ....according to them , he doesn't do defensive work & thinks he is bigger than club.
Stoke are taking a punt on him.Could backfire

£60,000-a-week being touted. We surely can afford it.

We have players on much more than that. I'm sure an ITK could verify it. We know Adebayor is on close to 100k hence we want rid.

Shaqiri and Cabeye are the sort of signings we would have made under Harry. It shows we have moved on I guess, I'm just not always convinced for the better!

I am sure we could, but we are not in the market for a tricky beat his man get to the byline type winger. Rightly or wrongly MP likes his WF's to be direct and strong.

I do love a good footballer though, a
Ginola/Berbatov/VDV. It's the Tottenham way!

We agree there needs to be more substance and we don't want a team full of 'spursy' players but can't we have a tiny bit of style back.

I have this inkling that Deli Alli will be a Gascoigne-esque type in games to come.

That's probably why we haven't pursued him, doesn't fit the profile of what we are looking for.

Shaqiri never liked the fact that he wasn't seen as a superstar at bayern and was always coming off the bench when he did play. There's no doubt he's talented but he's not a team player and wants to have a team built around him.

Our fans should not be wondering why we're not signing this guy when it's quite clear that Inter Milan aren't even interested in keeping him after only 6 MONTHS and they have had some questionable attitudes in their squad in the past.

Mark Hughes is an arrogant fuck as well and clearly doesn't give a shit about his team's chemistry. Arnautovic is known as being an arrogant little sod. Afellay has never realised his potential and is also thought to be quite up himself. Hughes has an eye for ability, no doubt about it, but his teams will never win anything because when it comes to the crunch, his players play for themselves rather than for each other or even for him.

Alli does look a talent I have to say. I personally think he should have started on Saturday. For me Trippier and Alli were our two standout players during pre-season so should have been on the pitch from the off.

Time will tell obviously with Alli but so far so good!

Shaqiri is direct, and he is strong.

Wow, no pressure then
Tom, me ol' fruit, I doubt very much if my insisting on Alli's potential will make it to his Gascoigne-esque ears and even if he reads this esteemed forum, that he'll take any sort of notice of my ramblings. Put it this way, he'll be what he is capable of and wants to be, mmkay?

I still don't fancy our chances against them on Saturday and they did the double over us last season.
