Italian duo chase Spurs star Lee

Italian clubs Roma and Torino are reportedly chasing the signature of Tottenham's South Korean left-back Young-Pyo Lee.

The 30-year-old came close to joining Roma last summer after Spurs snapped up Benoit Assou-Ekotto from Lens as his potential replacement.

Despite improving during his second season at the club, the former PSV defender's future is uncertain once again following the capture of Gareth Bale from Southampton.

Lee is currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury but is expected to return to pre-season training soon, by which time he could find himself in Serie A.

Carl would leave WHL and move to Italy if leapy left.
I wondered how long it would be until my name was brought up in this thread!

I hope he leaves actually. He deserves to be playing at his peak somewhere he's actually appreciated instead of somewhere the majority of people think he's shite or that a 17yr old kid is better.

He's earned respect over his career and over his time with us, just a shame that vast numbers of our supporters would rather cut out their own eyes than give him that.

Much better he goes somewhere where he will get what he has earned.

If Jol hasn't learnt his lesson from last summer he wants his fucking dick chopping off.

Imagine what our season would have been with BAE at lb all season.

Lee is our most consistant player. Our most experienced player. The best lb I've seen at spurs since hughton (maybe before). One of the best in the EPL. Possibbly the only lb in the epl that can drop a shoulder do a couple of step overs and beat a man.

If his name was Johnny bully beef English he'd be evryone's hero.

More than any oter thing at spurs currently, even more than I hate the fact that it took eveybody 2 years longer than me to realise Mido is shit, I really hate that this little classy, technically great bundle of energy isn't admired and given the credit he deserves. Probably because he doesn't have a flamboyant raport with the crowd or run around with a big cheesy grin on his face. He just quitely gets on with doing his job week in week out.

We all appreciate him Carl, just not as much as you do.

I think your proposed punishment of Jol is a bit extreme. I think leaving his manhood intact and deporting him to Holland would be fairer. No, that's too extreme as well. Make him shake hands with Arsenal Winger. No , that's worse...

If selling Lee is serious enough for BMJ to lose his dick, what should happen to him if he sells Berbatov ?

I'd be very surprised if Bale is good enough to unseat Lee from the beginning of the year. I could see him starting in Jan or Feb, not in 2 months time.

Lee is a top 5 LB in the EPL.

Bale is 17 FFS. Maybe Jol and company will bring him along slowly like any good club would and once Lee isn't quite as consistent, like in 2-4 years Bale would take over as the stater but until then why not bring him along slowly and let him learn from Lee?? I hope this story is :bs:

If someone should go it is BAE by a country mile. The only problem I have with Lee is his lack of crosses with his left foot which I don't really mind all that much since neither Keane or Defoe are ever going to get on the of a cross with their heads and Berby to be honest isn't much better and Lee's crossing becomes a moot point.

No way is Bale going to be ready for a full season of first team premier league action. Jol must know this. Lee is the best LB we have, and hopefully will stay for at least another couple of seasons as Bale develops.

Other clubs are going to be interested because Lee is a quality, experienced player.

Selling him would be the wrong move for a club looking to strengthen during the transfer window.

isn't that what most people thought about Lennon when he came? if he's as good as everyone says he should be starting a fair few games.

Don't get me wrong wingnuts, I want to see the lad get games. Maybe I will be proved totally wrong and he will be amazing straight away. I doubt it though, and it's not a risk that I'd be happy taking. Rather start with Lee as first choice and give Bale opportunities when it's appropriate.

I actually believe Beniot Assou-Ekotto will turn out to be a brilliant left full back (showed alot of promise IMO, definitely worth another season. He was badly let down during the early season stages by a lack of suffient cover on the left wing/Midfield.. Davids would've been ideal on the left to steady BAE into the league.) Guess I'm about the only one that thinks so in this forum.

Lee's a good defensive full back, and that really is a defenders brief. He does though lack quality going forward and has to cut onto his right foot which disrupts the momentum of attack. Saying that I'd still keep him because his proven.

oh well!

Davids was a massive liability. It was obvious to everyone that he was finished at the end of the season before last.
