I think Lee's like my car. I quite like it and whatever I get for it probably wouldn't be enough for me to replace it anyway.

Keep him. He could be a good mentor for G.B. too.

Rust appearing, left tracking out, can be picked up quite cheap on the open market, lightweight and a good runner?

You own a Ford Fiesta don't you? :-|

I like YPL and would be very happy to see him as first choice LB next season but if we could get Shorey who's 5 years younger and has a good left-footed cross I think we should reluctantly cash in on him...

If Jol hasn't learnt his lesson from last summer he wants his fucking dick chopping off.

Imagine what our season would have been with BAE at lb all season.

Lee is our most consistant player. Our most experienced player. The best lb I've seen at spurs since hughton (maybe before). One of the best in the EPL. Possibbly the only lb in the epl that can drop a shoulder do a couple of step overs and beat a man.

If his name was Johnny bully beef English he'd be evryone's hero.

More than any oter thing at spurs currently, even more than I hate the fact that it took eveybody 2 years longer than me to realise Mido is shit, I really hate that this little classy, technically great bundle of energy isn't admired and given the credit he deserves. Probably because he doesn't have a flamboyant raport with the crowd or run around with a big cheesy grin on his face. He just quitely gets on with doing his job week in week out.

Really pretty much exactly what I was going to say. I pray to God he stays. Anyone who can´t appreciate his class needs locking up.

Korea Times:

Tottenham Hotspur defender Lee Young-pyo might move to a new team this summer.

Britain's The Times predicted the 30-year-old South Korean's departure along with several players, saying Tottenham is expected to reach an agreement with Charlton Athletic to sign Darren Bent.

It said Tottenham is believed to have paid about 16.5 million pounds for the England forward. The fee will break Tottenham's transfer record of 11 million pounds, which they paid to Dynamo Kiev for Sergei Rebrov seven years ago.

Other players mentioned with the South Korea's second Premier Leaguer are forward Ahmed Hossam Mido, Anthony Gardner, Hossam Ghaly, Danny Murphy, Wayne Routledge and Teemu Tainio.

Egyptian Mido has prepared for transferring after losing to Irish Robert Keane and Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov in a duel for the starting spot and prospect Routledge, who was on loan with Fulham, is also expected to transfer to the London-based club.

A number of left backs are responsible for Tottenham trying to sell Lee.

Tottenham, which already has left backs Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Lee, has completed a deal to bring defender Gareth Bale from Southampton to have three players at the position.

After the deal, English media reported that the Spurs have been trying to move either Lee or Ekotto.

The Times said on June 14 that AS Monaco had inquired about signing the Cameroonian but the club would sell Lee.

Meanwhile, Italy's Serie A teams AS Roma, Torino and Udinese have shown interest in him.

Lee, who joined Tottenham in 2005, is rehabilitating from knee ligament injury.

i cant see us selling him. i wasnt a big fan of him to be honest but he really impressed me towards the back end of last season. although i dont see him as a 'key' player like others do, i wouldnt want us to get rid of him.

however we were willing to flog him to roma not so long ago, and at 30, should a decent offer come in, then i think we'd take it, especially with us having BAE and bale, however i think much depends on how good the management think BAE is.

Well, there seems to be talk that BAE is unhappy, hasn't settled, hasn't learned English, etc., etc. This may all be bollocks, of course, but even if it is I wouldn't like us to rely on him as backstop for Bale when he has so much to learn about playing in the Premiership himself. We're going to need Lee's experience for another season at least, and he looks to me the sort of player who can carry on at the highest level till he's 35.

Unless he's even more remarkable than his reputation suggests we should not expect Bale to step straight up to the mark against the likes of Ronaldo. It would be absolute lunacy to sell Lee.

What he said.

Plus he has spiritual awareness and is a bloody top bloke to talk to.

I'd cry if he left. I'm not joking.

I had a good chat with him earlier this year in Braga and I was impressed with his attitude and outlook on life.

Even if he doesn't play he would be great to have around for the young kids to learn from.

I am so very very jealous. My seat is pretty much next to where he is positioned in the first half. I totally appreciate all the hard work he does and is one of my favourie players.

Also my missus is Korean (and needless to say a big fan). Don´t suppose you got an email address you can pm me - he has a huge fan club in Korea that would love to get in touch.

Plus he's had an injury for several months and is now 30 so it is unlikely anyone will come in with a big enough bid (3mplus ) to make it worth considering selling him. If we got 3m and could bring in Shorey for 5m then maybe but don't see either happening.

Lee weighs up options

South Korean international Lee Young-pyo has hinted he could leave Tottenham if he receives the right offer.

The 30 year-old struggled to cement a first-team spot at White Hart Lane last season and his opportunities next term appear to be limited after the recent arrival of Welsh international Gareth Bale.

After rejecting a move to Roma last summer for personal reasons, the left-back said he will be taking a closer look at his options this time around.

"I was very close to going to Italy but negotiations fell through at the last minute," Lee told the South Korean press at Incheon International Airport.

"This time I will take my time evaluating the different options before making a decision. I will reconsider everything from the start."

Lee is currently sidelined with a knee injury and is expected to return to action in a couple of months.
