We should keep him. He's moving into that stage of his career where he can't expect to be first choice all the time, but he's a great squad player.

Plus he has a shed load of experience to share with the guys coming up beneath him, if BAE, for instance, could pick up even an ounce of his commitment and professionalism he might turn into the world-class left back DC thought he had the potential to be.

I can't see too many clubs being interested in signing him with his knee condition:

"Lee is currently sidelined with a knee injury and is expected to return to action in a couple of months."

Maybe in January if his knee looks okay...

I think Lee is awesome! We should keep him and BAE and pretty much everyone else except for Mido, Ghaly, Murphy and Gardener or Rocha.

Lee is first team FFS. Why sell him?

Except we should keep Rocha, Ghaly and Gardener too!! They're all quality squad/1st team players.

If Jol hasn't learnt his lesson from last summer he wants his fucking dick chopping off.

Imagine what our season would have been with BAE at lb all season.

Lee is our most consistant player. Our most experienced player. The best lb I've seen at spurs since hughton (maybe before). One of the best in the EPL. Possibbly the only lb in the epl that can drop a shoulder do a couple of step overs and beat a man.

If his name was Johnny bully beef English he'd be evryone's hero.

More than any oter thing at spurs currently, even more than I hate the fact that it took eveybody 2 years longer than me to realise Mido is shit, I really hate that this little classy, technically great bundle of energy isn't admired and given the credit he deserves. Probably because he doesn't have a flamboyant raport with the crowd or run around with a big cheesy grin on his face. He just quitely gets on with doing his job week in week out.

Don't it make yer larf, BC.

Last summer folk on here were falling over one another in 'saying LYP is shite' competitions. Now they are falling over themselves with 'saying BEO is shite' competitions after part of one season.

When Lee came to the Lane BMJ said he considered him to be one of the best LBs in Europe - people larfed; they ain't larfing now.

Well techincally speaking he's not one of the best in Europe and almost everyone outside of this forum would still laugh at the suggestion that he was.

I'll be honest.

I'm a Korean-American who became turned onto Spurs during the summer of 2005 when Spurs signed Lee and Davids (I'm a huge Juve fan and Davids has been one of my favorites).

I'd be devastated to see Lee leave. I know he's not the most talented player in the world, but he leaves his heart on the field, whether it's for Korea or Spurs, who I both love dearly.

I will be a Spurs fan regardless, but I'd love to see him remain on the club and the very least be a mentor for Bale. Lee is really a highly respectable person and a pretty good footballer as well.

I am in two mind re YP Lee. I love his attitude and think he's improved a lot this season (and defended him on other forums when he was struggling) but it seem his "type" is made for the more slow continetal style.
Because he's not been a hit in the PL doen't mean he's not a quality player. Henry and Viera didn't well in Seri A, Rush was total failure in Italia, and both Des Walker and Souness struggled there. Gasutto was a sub at Glasgow. And we can go on...
I think YP Lee would be an outstanding FB on the continent - if he went there. But I hope Spurs do keep him.

Well, yeah, but the 'people' who 'larfed' that i was specifically referring to were on this forum:up:

Further, I was also referring specifically to Martin BMJ Jol's estimation of Lee - not suggesting the assertion that Lee is the best LB in Europe would hold water in a court of law. I'm sure BMJ wasn't attempting to initiate a debate on the best LBs in Europe, and whether Lee had a place amongst that elevated pantheon - just that he esteems him highly. That does not indicate any specific inclination on my part, does it:shrug:

If Lee goes its not the end of the world,we still have Bale,Gardner and BAE,we have more than enough cover.
In all honesty,I am not really bothered by him leaving,he has never been as good as I imagined he would be when we signed him.

I'm in the YP Lee fan club, from the tendency that considers him to be an excellent and under-rated defensive LB who has never figured out ways to make his attacking play unpredictable enough for the Premiership.

If he goes to Roma, it will be because he wants to leave, not because the club want to sell him. He was on the point of signing for Roma last year, but there was some weird shit about him having a religious dream (he's a devout Christian) and changing his mind at the last minute.

ive always had this gut feeling that jol's never been a big fan of lee. we were willing to flog him not so long ago to roma but that fell through, and it wouldnt surprise me if jol was willing to cash in on him again to be perfectly honest.

I agree.
When he is fit i think he will be off, and Jol may get someone from the reserves/youth team and ease them in to the 1st team like Ifil was.

He´s class, bombs up and down, rarely gets beaten, hardly ever slips up. I love the guy - and just who is supposed to replace him if he leaves?

Bale - probably not this season? Benoit? Only if he drastically improves on last season.

Lee has steadlily improved over his time at Spurs (and he wasn´t bad to begin with).

Finally, I feel he was our best player in Europe after Keane and Berbatov. He could be key in next season´s UEFA assault.

Was about to post something similar but you already did it for me. Lee is a huge part of our team in my mind and hope he doesn't want to leave as he was our most consistent performer for the whole year.

I just can't see Jol and Comolli not seeing how good he was and asking him to leave. If anything I would rather see BAE get sent out on loan or even transferred as it might show Lee we are serious about keeping him around.

I think Ekotto could develop very well, but at the moment he's long way behind Lee.
