Goal from another angle, not seen this one posted yet:

Full credit for Paulinho being there bursting a gut to get in the box in the last dying seconds of the game - there weren't many others were there!

Apparently Malky Mackay says the disallowed goal should have stood haha wtf. Clear foul on Dawson and Lloris

Lets give Clattenburg credit where it is duely due, for if the ball was on the other foot - we would be giving him hell for leather right now and forevermore. Well done Clattenburg - thankyou for being so astute in your duties today.

Good point. I've slaughtered Clattenburg in the past, with good reason too, but I thought he had an excellent game yesterday.

Lewis and Lamela should start in villa game... i think they both are telepathic in their plays... if Townsend continues with his long shots and not creating chances, he will be dropped.

Never mind that, but the presence and coolness to let the ball run & then back heel it in in extra time!!! That's the Brazilian flair for you. Most players at that stage of the game would only worry about getting laces on it and seeing what happens. Fantastic goal.

Think that's probably one of the best games we've played under AVB in terms of attacking threat, what do you think?

I love the constant attacking, we're solid at the back and exciting up front

You're kidding right? We strangled the game, but were so open at the back, anyone better than Craig Bellamy or Frazier Campbell would be punishing us heavily for those ridiculous mistakes we made. 29 shots and only 1 goal? Very happy to win but my god this needs to be more emphatic, and I think we were lucky tbh.

Cue backlash on unpopular opinion...

Right lads, Soldado is coming out of my fantasy football team. Watch him start scoring for fun now.

Surprised you had him in there... new team, country and surrounded by players who themselves are new. Would not have taken and attacking players for Spurs at the beginning of the fantasy league season as it is normal for them to take a while to gel.

2nd/3rd choice strikers out on loan or sold to lower down the table teams on the other hand have a habit of starting strongly and then dipping badly.

Well it is not a backlash for an unpopular opinion, it will be a backlash for being totally wrong. Yesterday Marshall had the game of his life, he made 5 or 6 wonder saves. Honestly two of the saves from Soldado were Worldies as he had zero time to react but managed to get solid touches on them. We weren't lucky yesterday. We didn't rely on a moment of individual brilliance. Instead we stuck to our task and ground out a goal, which to me is as pleasing as any wonder strike as it shows that we are made of sterner stuff.

In terms of better teams scoring those opportunities against us? I'm not so sure. Against City we wouldn't be so cavalier with going for it, so it just doesn't compare. As a whole the performance was very pleasing yesterday. The team looks to be gelling, Holtby and Eriksen are pulling the strings. Soldado's movement is on another level to anything we have had since Jurgen and we look dominant.

So in other words, well done Clattenburg for making errors that benefit us?

I thought the disallowed goal was correct, but my first thought when Lloris made the earlier clearance was that it was outside the box, and subsequent replays only seem to confirm this. If I were a Cardiff fan I'd be furious with the officials for making such a big error of judgement.

I don't think a balanced view can praise Clattenburg for his performance yesterday. It's just that for once we were the ones benefitting.

Correctomundo... No one can say a team like Chelsea or City would have stuffed us with that defensive line. We were more open at the back because it was Cardiff, who by and large stuck 10 men behind the ball for most of the match and were reliant on these odd chances to nick something.

We also weren't lucky as such, though we certainly could have been unlucky had Cardiff taken any of their 5 chances. We dominated the game, had plenty of chances and over the course of the 90+ minutes deserved the goal that we did get. Had we scored in the 50th minute and waltzed to a 0-1 win in the same manner we wouldn't really be talking about luck etc...

Yes it came late, but in no way was our win undeserved.

That's gonna make such a massive difference in I integrating lamela into the team. He's a young kid and although I'm sure he was welcomed by everyone, it's natural to be a little shy etc and being part of such a crucial goal will really endear him to the rest of the team, let alone all us yids. I expect him to start against Chelsea next week.

It is beautiful from Holtby too. He knows Lamela will make that run and weights it very well.
His energy and intention made all the difference when he came on.

Lamela is gonna be out of this world though. Will be the envy of every club in the prem. Born to be great.
