I do see there's a Trippier lovefest going on, but he might like to work on that first touch a bit before you hand him the starting spot... just sayin' :stop::mask::singing:

At first I was critical of the timing of this competition, but the experience these younger players are getting and how the more the game goes on the more relaxed they look, the more I've changed my mind.

Ryan and Kane had breakthrough seasons last year, we could have several more this year.

Yesterday and today really sums up the bi-polar nature of people on here.

To be fair, the spirits of the fans tend to match the spirits of the players. Lads are well up for it today compared the statues and sideways passing yesterday.

Yes they were poor but we made them look poor at times in the second half. Some incisive football was good to see.

Milan were poor and let us do what we want but it was a great run out for the youngsters and new guys; great for confidence.

Two good run outs in two days.
Plenty of positives on top of the general experience, including neither game being particularly strenuous and no injuries.
Can't imagine it did our profile any harm either.
P.S. Chelsea are also just about to play Fiorentina, so we're not the only ones playing these late games...
