Not entirely sure why Barca would pursue Eriksen to be honest. He’s 25 now and still suffering with prolonged spells of poor form.
5 shite games at Barca and he is finished. He is currently well over that 5 game limit with us

They bought Paulinho

Regardless they want Coutinho before Eriksen so I wouldn't say we have anything to worry about just yet.

Not just Eriksen but this goes for all the other 'exodus' players that get mooted the moment we have a shit result.

That’s the thing. So many are quick to say ‘oh no, Eriksen and Dele and Rose will leave, maybe even Toby too!’

If these players are looking to go then they best hope that their prospective buyers haven’t watched West Ham league cup ( Toby ), Eriksen since the Ireland game or virtually any game this season when it comes to Dele!

Overrating our players. Eriksen isn’t a new talent. He’s been on the scene for 7 years and very much attainable for every single one them years for the big boys in Europe. I actually think Barca and the likes have written him off pretty much. Too inconsistent and goes missing in the truly big games. We all know that too well. Sure, he’s great against Madrid in the group stage, or Ireland in the play off. What happens in semi finals or the World Cup when it actually matters? Think we all know

Dele? We all know deep down that Real would piss themselves with laughter at his on field antics. He wouldn’t last a season there.

It’s time we started asking questions of these players as opposed to making excuses for them and worrying about what they’ll do if we “we don’t match their ambitions”
It’s these fuckers that don’t actually win anything for us remember!

Only Kane has shown he’s got ‘it’. He’d improve every side on the planet. Weirdly, he’s the most committed to us out of the lot.

If we can keep him then literally fuck everyone else.

I don't understand, the play off final where Eriksen single-handedly dragged his country to the world cup is literally an example of him turning up in a big game.

Ffs seriously? We lose and shit like this appears.
I'm far more disappointed in our so called 'fans' on SC after this weekend than I am anything Poch, Levy, Enic or the players have done.
I'm out of here until new year.
I can't take anymore of this crap lol.

This forum is poison after we lose.

Yeah it’s actually embrassing how grown men can’t control their emotions after a game and end up coming on here and spewing absolute nonsense.

As I said somewhere else, you would get more sense watching Arsenal TV than logging into here after a defeat

I wouldn't call Alli, Eriksen or Son lousy purchases. We have struggled to buy a striker though.

It would be hard to call Alli, Eriksen and Son “lousy purchases” as all of them have scored tons of goals and increased in value astronomically.

And we haven’t struggled to “sign a striker”. We have one of the best in the world. We are struggling to find someone who can easily replace Kane’s goals but it’s not like we aren’t trying. Janssen and Llorente came to us at a price and with proven goal scoring records - and willing to play off the bench. It’s a limited market.

I agree that Kane is one of the best. But the years between Berbatov and Kane we struggled to get a top quality striker. Now we have Kane we are struggling to find a suitable backup.

It is very difficult. We try the inside forward type who can play behind the striker and when Kane is out we don't have a like-for-like replacement.

We tried the like for like replacement in a young up-and-comer and then a steady hand. Neither have shone yet.

I wasn't moaning,it's a limited market and hard to find the right player. But we have struggled to find the right striker as backup to Kane. Surprised anyone thinks otherwise.

I've never said it is non-exisitent. I also laid out varoius other reasons why we are struggling this season.

We've scored the same as Arsenal and 1 less than Chelsea so lets not pretend this is a complete disaster.

I am as disappointed as anyone this season but I believe £14m on a 32 year old backup striker so I don't our issue is as simple as lack of investment.

If we had not signed our players who turned out to be duds and only signed players who brilliantly we'd be doing better. Shame it has no basis on reality and even the billionaire clubs have a long list of failed signings.
Our record against the other top 6 clubs is pretty bad.

The other top 6 clubs also get shot of their duds far quicker than we do. Levy hangs onto them hoping their value will improve.

Besides anything else, Dele, Sissoko and one or two others have all had problems controlling a football and staying on their feet (Dele) - they're still here because they can produce the odd moments of brilliance - for the other 88 minutes it can be painful to watch.

As others have repeatedly stated, it's not about the bench. To have rotation options and tactical options is a luxury we don't seem to want to afford.

So when our competitors get something right it's great scouting, when our academy produces a gem and we very wisely sign Dele, it's 'lucking out' ?
Dele was originally signed as a box-to-box midfielder. Poch moved him forward and re-badged him.

No buying Son wasn’t luck and it isn’t a coincidence that he was comparatively our most expensive purchase.
He also played like crap in his first season with us - nearly got sent out on loan til poch pulled the plug

I take it you have forgotten he had large periods out with injury during his first season and was still adjusting to the league?

It's just reactionary bollocks because of yesterday's result.
Would he have started this thread if we hadnt lost?
I very much doubt it.
Agreed and also the manner in,which we lost. But our incredible handicap is not having a home ground to effect this season. Thats got to affect the morale of the team this season.

Playing against the grain this season. Big challenge

As was said we were top scorers past two seasons or thereabouts !

If anything that list just shows we are very inconsistent, which is to be expected given we are financially hamstrung. Son and Dele for £27m combined is far above any other purchase listed there.

On the flip side £70m for the N'Lads, Sissoko and Janssen looks nearly as bad as £75m for the cart horse 4th-goal-in-a-4-0-drubbing merchant Lukaku.
