dont forget agent fees, wouldnt be surprised if they would pay substantially more than us in that area.

Bernardo Silva also leaving City, would love us to go for him and Laporte, could have the same effect Zinchenko and Jesus had for the arse this season.

@DanielCHillier last season we only out spent Villa by £500k in agent fees despite having Champions League and bringing in more players. I'll be shocked if they don't out spend us in agent fees this season, and probably by a lot if comparing spending per player.

Sureky we are above villa in the pecking order? They have awful Europe I doubt he’d want to play in Baku on a Thursday night and I would imagine london is more attractive than Birmingham
Agree but i think Villa will offer more wages than Levy would.

Really?

Sorry to go off topic too much, but that’s surprising as he’s using quite important for them.

Imagine he wants to go to another country though if wants out at city?

And to be on topic again, would absolutely love Laporte as for me I’m surprised he hasn’t been first choice alongside Dias for City, rather than Ake.

Anyone who thinks Laporte couldn't possibly consider joining us should look at where Arsenal were last summer, when Zinchenko & Jesus decided to move there.

Excellent defender, great on the ball and miles better than what we have. Slight concern he might not be an ideal fit if we are playing really high. Neither he or Romero have much pace but then I guess the idea is that we’d win the ball really high up and stifle teams. Whoever the keeper is would have to be great coming out to mop up.

I think that must have been their connection with Arteta that made the difference. Shows how much they must have rated him!

Hence why Pep changed the City goalie straight away to one who's good with the ball at his feet and can practically play a sweeper role. Is that how Celtic play?

In fairness Arsenal still qualified for Europa League, and both players knew Arteta well from his City coaching days.

Anyway, I don't think Laporte would disregard a Spurs offer. Stating the obvious - it will just depend if he gets better offers elsewhere.

Arsenal were 5th and could offer Europa league football at the very least. We finished 8th, below Brighton and Villa.

Ironically Celtic now have the goalkeeper City replaced. Big Joe Hart.

This it seems is a key part of what Postecoglou demands.

Ah yeah that's true. How odd. From what I've read he ideally wants his keepers to come out and sweep.

The merits of the Scottish leagues quality have been done to death. But I imagine Hart has enough quality to do that kind of role up there, where as he’d get found out pretty quickly in one of the top leagues.

That or they were willing to step down a level to ensure regular starts.
(Arsenal exceeded everyone's expectations this season, yet it's their former club on the brink of winning a historic treble).
