Formations from all last season's games can (I think) still be found on the Telegraph match reports.

I think we will sign one more attacking player from either Bentley or Capel and I'm undecided as to who I want. If we get Bentley Ramos can play giovani on the left and if we get Capel gio can go on the right. Capel will cost 11m whilst bentley will cost 14m

SSN breaking news - Bentley has told them he wants to leave Blackburn, wants to play Champs League "or in Europe" in his words. Feels he's gone as far as he can with Blackburn.

The fact that he mentioned the Champions League has to rule us out. We aren't in this season and there's no gaurentee we will be next season. Liverpool for my money.

I'd be surprised if we were in for him now anyway actually. It doesn't seem like Lennon is going anywhere, and Dos Santos can play on the right as well so it would be a surprise to see us spend alot of money in that position.

I really dont think Liverpool will have the money, they are having to sell Alonso to get Barry and look like they are still struggling to come up with the cash, offering every man and his dog in exchange!?!

I think it will be between us and City... I'm not sure we will be going all out for him after signing GDS but if we did manage to get him I think he would be a fantastic signing...

He actually said he needed to playing CL or Europe which would rule us in!

I don't think Dos Santos will be an automatic starter on the right. Ramos might decide that he might need someone who can give reliable service on that side so Bentley would fit the bill. With have been linked with Sergio Garcia who plays on the right.

Yeah I don't actually think Dos Santos will be an automatic starter either and even if he does start he could play on the left or upfront.

But I just think the right wing is far from our top priority at the moment so I'd be surprised to see us spunk 15m or so on Bentley.

GK, CB, DM and LM are all arguably ahead of RM in our list of priorities. And that's without thinking about what happens if/when Berba leaves.

I think LM has become less of a priority. Bale can play there and so can Modric both would provide really good service down that side. Then you have GDS and Malbranque and even Lennon. I'd agree the rest of the positions you mentioned are more of a priority. But if we do get a fourth striker than I think it means we have a lot of money to spend.

I agree right wing is not a priority as defensive midfield and goalkeeper to rival /replace Robbo are needed far more but if a quality player like him becomes available I'd take him like a shot!

I am fond of Lennon but just feel that Bentley would provide a better quality of service.

That said I wouldn't be sad to see Lennon starting come the start of the season and pick up his form again!

Not so sure about that. Liverpool seem to be tightening their purse springs at the mo if recent reports are to be believed and having signed Dossena (I think) for around 8mil (again from memory as can't find article on stupid new sky sports website!) plus putting a lot of money aside for Barry, they might not be able to afford Bentley.

Plus Pool are supposedly after Milner - anyone on here rate him?

Also maybe, just maybe, they'll go in for Villa which should completely wipe the rest of their funds if they get all the above (apart from Milner).

Obviously this is just wishful thinking on my part though as want Bentley at Spurs!

I think and hope Dos Santos will play left wing rather than right next season as would be nice to have someone playing there who is actually left-footed! :)

Yeah we do seem to have solved our left midfield situation now and it certainly seems stronger than the right. Modric and Giovani can both play there, as can Bale and Gilberto and O'Hara. I also think Malbranue is better on the left than the right, but at his best in the middle. We dont really have a lot of cover on the right, and unlike Bale and Gilbero, Hutton and Chimbonda cant really play there. So Bentley could be a good idea. I would still like Capel though. Maybe both, but thats because i'm greedy.

I wouldn't put it past Chelsea to bid for him so they can stop other teams getting him.
