These recent mid week losses will haunt me for some time to come. Not gonna like them any more. To think 2-3 seasons ago we were enjoying mid week as glorious European games. How bad things have become.. ?

Genius move from all concerned - go out of all the cups so we can focus on not finishing top 4 ?

I don't think it is as easy as talking about next Summer. That may offer an explanation to the losses against Southampton, Wolves and even Burnely if you consider their momentum.

However, for that starting 11 to lose to this Boro side is an embarrassment and once again a complete let down to us as fans.

So so poor tonight, all over the pic.
Arguably Sons worst game ever, did nothing right and gave the ball away so much.
Winks and Peh should never be in a two man mid, but my God am I sick watching Winks play sideways and backwards passes, he is nowhere near good enough.
Whoever sanctioned buying Emerson should be hung, drawn and quartered, atrocious for their goal and he us the most unbrazilian like player ever.
Bare facts are the players there are not good enough, our scouting over the past decade has been shambolic. In any other business the amount of wasted money would have resulted in someone being held accountable, but not in football, hence why Levy and co get such an easy pass
Most alarmingly tonight there was no urgency, even from Conte, who was unusually unanimated.
Another season without a trophy, becoming a joke at this stage.

Yup, Barca at Wembley was a tie to savour. I’d rather watch Messi tear us a new one instead of that bloke who looked like a supply teacher.

I'm not making excuse for Conte today, he certainly didn't get it right. I just take into account how many substandard players he has at his disposal right now. I'm not as disappointed as some of you because I accepted 2 months ago that this was how the season was going to be. Roll on the Summer.
They’re not that substandard. They ought to be able to take a game to Boro. Pitch was probably too bobbly for the little darlings, and the Boro boys played a bit too rough. I fear it will take more than one summer to fix this mess.

I have said this for 10+ years on here and will continue to say it again. You cannot becoming a winning club with winning players when you don't win trophies. The mentality that saw us lose today is the same mentality that existed when we dismissed previous League Cup and FA Cup ties and more recently Europa and Conference League ties. That arrogance has come back to bite.

The obsession with getting into the Champions League is nauseating. Win a trophy. I told a fan of a club yesterday that we have no expectation of winning the league when he joked that Conte was brought in to win the Premier League. We cannot compete with the oligarch clubs, but we should be doing better when it comes to the cups.

Why not establish a reputation like Seville for winning the Europa? We should have gone all out to win the Conference League when we dropped into it. It should have been a priority and wasn't. The culture at the club is shocking. It is rotten.

I have joked on here that our photos of trophy wins around the club are in black and white while other clubs I visit are in colour. We need to change the mentality and that comes with winning things.

I agree but it starts at the top, the very top. We don’t have a winning mentality at the top and it all spirals down.

I thought joelinton was the worst Brazilian player I’d ever seen, but Emerson takes the title. Utter crap

Winks needing 3 or 4 touches of the ball before making a pass (in any direction really) but by the time he'd taken them the forward pass was gone.

Hojbjerg wasn't great at releasing the ball forwards at the right time either.

Bentancur may not be up to speed yet but we badly need him and Skipp back.

Doherty is not a professional footballer I don't care what anyone tries to argue otherwise, whoever's decision to sign him should be enough to get the sack!

Royale I'm not seeing any traits that would make me understand signing him.

Sonny had a crap game (TBH I still don't think he's fit, certainly not 3 games a week fit)

Kane had a really leggy game that shows up why not signing another striker is such a massive bit of malpractice from a professional football club.

We win that match if Bentancur or Skipp is playing in the pivot instead of Winks, imo. They played right through him all match.

This will be a positive result for us if it means Conte never plays him there again.

This summer is unlikely to sort out our problems there are to many holes to fill. It's going to take 3 maybe 4 windows to do that and even then we are unlikely to be able to attract the best players. I know many wont but we just have to be patient....AGAIN...... and hope.

Look it is still mathematically possible for us to win the league. So I wouldn't lose hope just yet.
By that token it is still mathematically possible for us to be relegated, and points wise we are closer to it
