to me the name of the stadium is not all that important.

Just to have a nice new stadium will be fine to me, call it whatever the highest bidder wants to for all I care

What's the odds it ends up being sponsored by a company like B&Q?

There's no reason why we can't still refer to it as the New WHL, as it'll still be a stone's throw away.

It may be financially inevitable, but it'll still suck big time to have a sponsor's name.

Big Billy Nic stood proud on the foyer of the new stadium will be all that is needed to hark back to bygone eras.

And it's nearer to his house!

Will it have to be renamed every few years then? Great.

The idea of still calling it the Lane amongst ourselves is a nice thought, but everyone, gooners included, refer to their place as the Emirates now, it's just sunk in, as ours will :-(

I'm hoping that a porn company will sponsor us and we'll be called something like the "Spunkytitmingeflange" Arena. God i hope that happens.

The Arabic translation of which is "emirates"

By the way the goons moved so they can't call it highbury thats why they use emirates which is of course Arabic for Spunkytitmingeflange :)

And its nearer to White Hart Lane too

Boro's stadium was originally called the Cellnet Riverside Stadium, so if we call it say 'Spunkytitminge White Hart Lane', and make sure Spunkytitminge go out of business by the time the sponsorship deal runs out, then it'll revert to being just plain ol' White Hart Lane, job's a good'n...

Well I think Southampton did the same thng, it was the Friends Provident St Marys Stadium, and now its just Saint Marys.

Thing is for example, where you get 5mil a yearor a shirt deal, with round naming rights, your lookn at double that!

I think alot of German stadium are named after banks and finance companies.

Suspect the HSBC Stadium, I think maybe to placate us they may call it the XXXXX Lane, so we can just call it "The Lane"

exciting times aheadI guess. Gutted it wont be WHL anymore..

Along the lines of these examples we could fundraise to get the company that has the naming rights to name it xxxxxxx WHL and then sneakily drop the xxxxxx, cunning!

THE ANN SUMMERS STADIUM. Yep, that will do for me, a new line in sexy lingerie displayed by the team each month, puffy pink nob warmers and butt plugs, Tottenham Tit piercings & Cockerel rings to "maintain that erection throughout the game".
Yeah, bring it on, I'm getting a stiffy thinking about it!

I'll still call it, The Lane, WHL, or say to others, "You going to Spurs?".
So it ain't gonna matter to a lot of us!

That was a typo, I meant to say amuse, not abuse. I meant it in a funny way, imagining them sitting there listening to it.
What a difference a letter makes, especially a French one.

STILL LIKE THE IDEA OF THE Castlemaine XXXX or 4X Stadium

How about..Pizza Hut Park!

There already is one, unless of course you knew that and are just taking the piss, if not, there already is one.

My preferences are.

The Tesco Tin

The Carphones' Warehouse or The Carphone Warehouse Warehouse

Easyjet Stadium - brilliant thing about this one is fuck the ST's its first in first seated.

The Mansion

You know what, i completely forgot about that aspect of it. Thanks for reminding me. :-(

My ST in the Park Lane is £630 now. You're right, it'll be just under a grand when it's built and just over a grand the season after.

:-(

A name change could be quite exciting. I grew up going to the Lane, and it certainly has a nostalgic quality. I wouldn't be upset, though, if our new home was given a new name. We want it to be better than what we have now, and for it to be remembered as fondly as our current home but in it's own right. Maybe I haven't conveyed this too well, but White Hart Lane has sealed it's place in history and in our hearts (get the tissues). Our new stadium should be precicely that - new. Perhaps a nod in the direction of its glorious predecessor, but a new name for it to be remembered by. If a company gives us massive ammounts of cash for naming rights then that is great, but it would be very nice if the fans had a say in the final choice. Something that can be remembered seperately from the company would be ideal.

It can never be anything other than White Hart Lane as far as I'm concerned, no matter what sponsorship deal or financing there is. If we continue to call it that and ignore any new name, we can make sure we don't lose this important slice of Spurs history.

We may need a properly organised protest later on.

the Club never began the naming " white hart lane " - it was the media - the ground is not located at white hart lane and there is no reason for it to be named that way now nor years ago - its probably the most inaccurate/inappropriate/misleading ground name in britain
