The shot was woeful but his skill to develop the chance against Fulham with close control inside the box was fantastic

I really think once he settles and plays to his best regularly he'll be our Lampard in terms of being a source of goals from midfield

I think it was one of those where he'd done the hard work so well that he'd already scored in his head.

He'll score a few goals for us but I find him frustrating. Sometimes holds onto the ball too long, and he's very one paced which stops him from getting away from people. But I like his runs into the box and hope he'll get better with more Prem experience.

I wonder how much money he has made us in terms of sponsorship, this is a big year and companies in Brazil are throwing money in to sponsorship deals
Just to update, this I mentioned earlier that high price was likely down to the fact he is brazilian and will likely to bring money back in sponsorship deals, here is how much money is being spent on Brazilian athletes/sport this year

Thats right, that is a $1,000 mill being spent but worth noting alot of that will be on corporate for the world cup and Olympics

Then it is also worth noting that our very own Paulinho has been made a poster boy for Nike with Neymar and co for the home world cup and he is also made a brand ambassador for Samsung. I suspect that high price would include alot of his image rights.

Yeah, he seems a lock for a starting role with Brazil so just from that alone I'm shocked with some of the responses in this thread. Excellent player in my opinion. Does everything well. Had he had a bit more composure in front of goal 2 or 3 times this season I think it'd be a different story in here...He will come good? He's already been very good for us, him and Vlad are easily the two best from our new signings so far.
Paul Vald and Bobby are the only ones who had a decent run of games out of our new signings.
Thats why they have impressed imo.
Once all the signings get a run of games they will all look good imo.

He has impressed the most.
although every one said he was a liability after a couple of games.
opinions have certainly changed now.
I loved him from the off.
If we dont get CL there will be plenty of clubs sniffing around.

Class, a definite starter for me. You won't get many box to box players better than him. Has all the physical attributes and gets into goalscoring positioins that most other CMs don't. Very composed on the ball and on the odd occassion picks a pass. He looked really good at AM against United, think we should use him there more often.

i think there was like one guy who did, maybe because he kept repeating himself so many times it created the illusion that lots of people thought vlad was rubbish.

Imo when he adjusts to the team/league he will be top class. I'd be thinking of a 3 man midfield of Eriksen, Paulinho, and Sandro, that would be class. With Holtby, Dembele, and Capoue as excellent alternatives.

Personally i would like to see Capoue Paul/Holtby and Sandro as a midfield three.
I dont think people realize how good a passer Capoue is.
He set JD away for his first chance against Fulham.
He reminds me of Yaya Toure.
Excellent defensively and great going forward.
That 3 midfield and Eriksen Soldado and Lamela the front AM3.
Awesome team and one i hope to see one day.

Whoa, wait. What? Have I been watching different games then some of you this season? Paulinho has been a goal threat, and has created chances for us, even when no one else was. He's created a bunch the last few games along with Lennon. Some of our most creative chances have been because of them 2 these last 3 games. I think he has done a fine job as one of the 2 deep mids considering what he has been asked/forced to do due to our creativity and goal scoring or lack thereof. He needs to work on his finishing along with the other 23 guys on our squad. Hey! Would ya look at that? At least we dont have to put special focus on a few guys during training, and it could be the whole team doing the work with you! Progress!(you gotta look at the bright side with these sort of things. Try to lighten things up a bit, brighten the mood).

Paulinho looks a bit knackered out there. I think we need to give him a bit of a rest, and manage his appearances a bit right now. He's appeared in 21 fixtures(18 starts) out of our 24 in all competitions without having the summer off, including all 15 PL matches. I'd definitely sit him out the upcoming Europa and Capital One fixtures. Probably also sit him out of the West Brom and/or Stoke matches at the end of the month to keep him fresh for United and Arsenal. Speaking of which, can we talk about how we have a run of 5 fixtures in 13 days with the last 4 only having a total of 6 days off between them; 2 each. Like are they kidding?

Yeah perhaps, but as good a creative midfielder as Eriksen? I think I would have about the same team but maybe Chadli or Townsend on the left and Eriksen in the middle. Just think he's probably the best passer we've got and so should be in midfield.

He's been excellent. One of the few attacking threats we pose. Passes, connect defence to attack. Smart runner and gets into space. His finishing has been poor of late but I think he'll start tonking them in soon enough!

I remember watching him @ WHL coming on against Sherriff - why he was brought on I have no idea but he absolutely changed the way we played! Lamela responded to him being there - a willing runner into the box. Soldado likes the Paulinho link up and I really hope the two of them with Holtby are given more time together up top.

Brazil is a huge emerging market. Lots of tech companies are building HQs there alongside manufacturing plants. Can see why Samsung are getting in on the action

Has he buggery. 'His finishing has been poor of late'? It's been fucking abysmal all season. 36 attempts, two goals. He's also created fewer chances than Lennon, who's had less than half the time on the pitch.

He's shown enough to demonstrate that he could be an excellent signing once he gets his act together, but let's not get delusional.

I can't believe Paulinho is being compared to Jenas. Jenas was never a bad player like some people are making out but he was inconsistent and had a tendency to drift in and out of games. He also had a tendency of showing his talent in the big games, he loved the NLD, but went missing against relegation fodder.

Paulinho on the other hand is pretty consistent, especially considering he's played less than half a season so far. His positioning is excellent and normally it's him who's busting a gut to get on the end of a cross.

His passing is not his strong point but we didn't sign him to rake 60 yard balls across the pitch. We signed him to be box-to-box, or in other words to receive those 60 yard balls. As he adapts more-and-more to the pace of the Premier League he will become sharper in the box and finish more of his chances.
