I have always said we have the players who can do the job. Very encouraged. I am going to give Mason MOM based on only seeing the last 60 mins

We could also dub this match the Battle of the Keepers

It's funny because I remember seeing a joke picture about where Arsenal and City would be without the goals Sanchez and Aguero respectively. Imagine where we'd be without Hugo between the sticks.

Any MOTM vote that doesn't go to Hugo does Hugo a disservice.

Chiriches is redeeming himself well at RB and was again good today, Kane had a very good second half and Mason likewise (should've scored though), but there is only one MOTM.

i'm giving it to Townsend for doing a good job closing down Young.. Manures main threat over the last few games.. Hugo doesn;t need these MOTM. he gets a special award

second half everybody gets 8/10 ..good effort lads

I'm giving it to Lloris, such an oustanding player and character.

But, Fazio was outstanding today I thought, excellent defensively, and showed some heart, pushed forward, dominant in the air. Is slowly building a nice understanding with Verts.

Fazio, Lloris and Davies did really well today, Davies is obviously a better player than Rose. I can't really complain about that much. Townsend left Chiriches exposed a few times in the first half other than that I think most did well.

Carrick was fantastic at shutting down Eriksen almost the entire game.

Lloris - 9 (kicking on occasions is why it's not a 10. Didn't put a foot wrong in any other areas)

Chiriches - 7 (much better at RB, easier on the heart when he tries his flicks..)
Fazio - 8 (best game in a Spurs shirt. Great partnership forming with Jan)
Jan - 8
Davies - 7.5 (>>>>> Rose)

Mason - 8 (best game in a Spurs shirt for him too IMO)
Stambouli - 6 (sloppy, surprised he lasted the 90. Would start Dembele over him v Chelsea)

Chadli - 6 (fairly innocuous today)
Eriksen - 7 (ditto, but mildly more involved than Chadli and some great set piece deliveries towards the end)
Townsend - 6 (so frustrating, again. If he plays in the future, it needs to be on the left)

Kane - 8.5 (good all round performance pushed up by that 1 outstanding piece of play which Mason should have finished off. Worked brilliantly as usual).

First half, 4s all round (Hugo aside), second half;

Great: Hugo, Fazio, Mason, Kane
Good: Davies, Chiriches, Verts, Townsend
Fine: Stambo, Chadli, Dembele, Lamela, Eriksen

Poch and fans - 10/10

Lloris in the first half for sure.

Second half made it more aware that it is problems in training than anything.

We were solid but had zero end product. Tactically, we need to be better if we don't have anyone else who can change the game in an instant.

Townsend had workrate today but wasted his first touch so many times. Think Dembele/Lamela coming on sooner would've helped us perhaps try nick a goal.

We definitely need to get in someone else to take the load of Kane and Eriksen.

Fazio won 10/10 headers today.

Such a beast in the air, him and Verts has got real potential imo. Really promising performance overall.
